Alternatives to DEPO

are they;re any alternatives to the DEPO taillights? meaning another reputable brand other than DEPO? i've heard N1's are no good anything else??

apparently DEPO is not producing any tail lights until they get a certain amount of orders because of financial troubles (i could be wrong just what i heard)

thanks

not that i know of... depo is still a good way to go... i have the N1s, no problem at all... in the few months i have had them from 100 degrees to -20 degrees, direct sunlight to the car covered in ice... all LEDs as bright as the day i got them.. the only thing i did before i installed them was run a bead of silicone around the lens on the inside to make sure they're sealed and used a file on a couple of edges to make them fit close..

other than that there is the OEM JDM version

i simply used some rtv silicone caulk (available at hardware and automotive stores) and applied it to the gap between the transparent lens and the grey plastic back. so just caulk all the way around (indicated by the red/yellow lines above) to make sure it is sealed. one of the biggest problems with the N1 lights was condensation getting into the lens because they weren't sealed properly. i have heard other problems such as LEDs going bad and also one side being brighter than the other. I haven't had these problems though. they feel cheap compared to OEM and they aren't perfect, but after they are on your car you don't notice and they still look good.

depos are worth the extra few bucks if you can still get them. more reliable and it seems as if they are made better. i also noticed the shiny metallic reflective plastic inside the lens are nicer too

depo is good but i went N1 because the depo ones are smoked a too dark for my taste compared to N1. the N1 tails are slightly lighter (from what i've seen so far)

N1's are poop.
Mine took trimming of the outer edges to fit and the left side tailight LED's were half the light intensity than the right side.
It's a hit or miss with these N1's quality.

Get the depo's or jdm.

If you don't mind a small crack on the back, Options Auto has a genuine set of red/clear JDM tails for $209.

I posted this the other day as it seems like a good deal. Options Auto is a legitimate dealer, so if they say it is still usable, I would trust them. It wouldn't hurt to email them either.

I ordered a set from Autodynamic.com but they were on backorder for more than a month, so i canceled my order. I ended up ordering a set on ebay from "makotoautotrends", thats the seller. I received the lights in a day(they're local to me) and i paid 115 shipped(so if you're out of california you dont have to pay the tax). Theyre not the Depo ones though, the manufacturer is DLAA from taiwanI got them installed saturday and they're awesome. I did koolkevs DIY fitment and i've never soldered before, so i watched soldering videos on youtube for about half an hour and bought soldering stuff from radioshack. Everything worked out awesome!

*edit* I had been researching the Depo tailights and i think theyre manfactured in Taiwan so DLAA might make the OEMs for Depo?
