So you think a purple HID light will attract less cops than a 4300k white HID that comes standard on about 30% of cars nowadays?

Cops don't ticket people with OEM HID's (4300k)

Its not really about what I think, its about whats been NOT getting me into trouble, and more on what they feel like doing in the end. So far out of all ther cars I had with HID's the 8K kit was the only one they left alone, but it could have just been a matter of time before they did. The best way to avoid a ticket for tampering with you lights, is to leave them stock. And yes I have known some people to get pulled over for having the stock HID in there car, but if you hae documents to prove they stock and you bring it to court, or take it to the police baracks it wont be a problem. But it is a unnessary hassel, I for one dont want to go through again. Which I could have sworn I explained allready in one of my post in this thread.

Not trying to be smart but there is a reason I want the light the way I said and its not for looks, well the Q45 projecter part is but, is to have a
the best lighting you can get is from a 4300k phillips bulb...it will be a pure white light everywhere except for the cutoff. as for seeing in the fog, you might just have to deal with it. you could get a 6k bulb(phillips ultinon), but for the amount of times that you will use them in for compared to regular night driving, you will starin your eyes alot and not light up the road as much.

for a projector...id recommend a fx35/45 projector. it will allow you to keep your high beams, has a nice cutoff and is easy to mod. to get alot of color out of them, follow the DIY on this link...but it will require you to purchase a set of TSX lenses. will give it a very nice thick and wide purple blue area at the cutoff to give that flicker of color. i think you might need to make an account for HIDplanet to see in that section, but its well worth it. alot of knowledge there.
HiDPlanet.com :: Log in - EDIT: wont let me link the university section of the forum

and for ballasts (they dont really determine the light output though) i recomend denso ballasts. mine have worked flawlessly for over a year now.
shop around, you can find bulbs for $30, projectors for $150, and ballasts for $150
then its time to send your headlights and projectors off to a retrofitter and have them installed.

Tsx lenses, Denso ballast, sounds like the right track. After reading a few of these post I think someone on hear had a projector set that didnt really require the retrofit and becomeming a member of HID planet doesnt sound like a bad Idea. I really did like the Q45 projectors because of how the look, but really a set of factory black headlight with a HID kit sounds to be the simple, reliable, and cheap way to go. Thanks you have been helpful

lol... funny how this thread has turned into a bit of an argument, and what Honda Junkie is going to do with his retrofit...good to read either way, I think I'm still going to go with the Q45 route... price and all, just seems to fit better in our housings...

I thought the topic of the thread was..........? What would you do--Custom Retrofit??
Like in a question! And since this is a internet forum? I figured why not give a opinion. Since the thread was about, " What would would you do custom?" I never knew I was arguing. When did two people giving a opinion on something become a arguiment??? Like somebody could say something that would change anybody's opinion. I didnt catch the point of this then?? O-well I guess I just missed the ball then.
