how do i turn off the daylight running lights ?
Wait, aren't the DRLs just the highs running at 50%? If you pull the fuse for them, don't you also lose your high beams?
No - the DRL system is on a relay. As soon as you turn on your headlights, it opens the switch to the DRL circuit and allows for proper operation of the high beams.
I don't know squat about any of this stuff, but I do know that when you just have the DRLs on without the headlights on, you can still pull back the control for the lights and it will activate the high beams. I also know the that DRLs are just the high beams running dimmed. To me that makes it seem like if you pull a fuse for the lights, you'll lose both functionality of them.

I'm confused. Are you saying you have to turn your headlights on to activate proper operation of the high beams? I'm not sure that's accurate because you can use the high beams without turning on the headlights.

While the DRL does use the high beam bulb... disabling DRL does not prevent the high beam from working (as highbeam or "flashing" oncoming cars).
I'm not certain how the wiring is set up... but you can look at it very basically...
imagine two separate circuits... each have power (battery), switch (and fuses) and a light bulb.
flip either switch and the bulb in that circuit lights up.
now, cut the light bulb out of one of the circuits, and put those wires up to the light bulb in the other circuit. Now, it looks like an "8" with the light in the middle... flip either switch to on, and the bulb lights up. Move it until it shares the same battery... and you get a setup you see in some homes, where you can have two switches at the far ends of a room for one light, where either being on, lights up the room (not used much now, since they BOTH need to be "off" to turn off the light).
I'm not saying that's how the DRL and regular highbeam are set up... but it's more or less similar.
On my 2010 GE the fuse is #15, (7.5 Amp). Check the fuse map on the fuse panel or owners manual just to be sure. When you remove the fuse, all the other lighting still acts normally, (just no DRL's all the time).
As an added tweak, I ran a switch at this location so I can turn them on or off whenever I like. Of course you could acomplish the same thing by pulling the fuse all the time, but that turns into a real PITA.

just under that is a opening for you to reach your fingers in... and yank out that panel.
once you pop the dash panel out... you should have an easier time accessing the fuse panel.
And when you're done... pop the panel right back in.
I've been working on cars for more than 10 years, but Fit's fuse box under the dash is bitch to get to!
I gave up since I didn't have much time today, but how the hell do I get the panel with hood release out?
S2K's fuse box is in exact same spot, but the panel comes off effortlessly, unlike the fit.

here is a video to show y'all how to do it.
2009-2010 Honda Fit Interior Fuse Check - 2010 Honda Fit Sport 1.5L 4 Cyl.
You'll have to use a little force in opening the cover; just jiggle it a bit until you feel it give - it won't break.
have fun .......
