Ive looked through all 20 pages and cant seem to figure out how to hook up my led strips to come on when I turn on the headlights.
Everybody does it with the dome light, but I want to keep them on at night while driving.

step 4 shows the gray wire which is powered by the headlight switch...so tap into this for positive, ground the black and your LED's will turn on when you turn the parking or headlights on
using the dome light is for illuminated door sills but u can also add footwell lights so they come on when u open door. so I have illuminated door sills and 4 white Led's under seat coming on with doors open, and I have 4 blue footwell LED's plus 2 blue cupholder LED's that come on with headlights
edit: not sure what year u have, this is for GE8

i just wired mine up to a factory illumination switch. the part is only about $15 from local stealership and you get an OEM finish that you can turn on and off independently.
Part number for the switch is: 08E10-TA0-1M035
It has 5 pins on the back. The link posted above tells you what each pin is for. And I actually found a really great plug for the switch if you end up going that way. I had to buy 10, so I'm gonna sell the rest of them that I didn't use.
