You'll need one of the JDM sockets that come with the connector for the lights... Not sure if it's reverse/signal/brake, I'm sure some one will chime in soon enough with that info.

Afaik, the sockets/connector are readily available here in the US from Honda parts, and the ALL the bulbs are available everywhere...

I think that info is all in Danny's thread... the tails Danny sends have the necessary sockets... give him some time he doesn't check pm/email obsessively.

He e-mailed me last night I am just trying to verify his PayPal account. But at the same time with the price difference of $80 between Used OEM and the Axis LED is making my choice a little harder.

Thanks

I have a used set of JDM OEM non LEDs tails complete with sockets and bulbs. Located in California. Ready to ship. You can have them in about 5 days. I can give you a good deal.

Not in a hurry since will not install until most likely end of April. Danny quoted $210 including shipping.

Anyone find it hard to see the axis tails LED signals during bright daylight?

When I unlock my car and the lights flash, I can't see anything unless I'm standing directly behind the car.

Turn signals are almost impossible to see from any angle in sunlight as well. Didn't think their output would be that weak.

Oh well, they look sweet at night.

The harness wires on the StellarV is more than a feet long, properly gauged wires are modular wrapped for wire protection... worth every penny IMO.

How's the daytime visibility? I'm talking about clear sunrise with the sunlight on your tail from an off angle.

i just wanted to add that the Stellar V clear/red is really chrome/red. i got them and was surprised as i was expecting more white.

i owned a set of Depos for GE and the quality was just fine. i can't say much about any of their other products in general. i have to say the Junyans (which were a replica of an earlier Axis design) i owned were the worst in quality.

Hey thanks for pics and vids.

But I was really specifically interested in bright day time performance from off angles.

That's the problem that the axis tails appear to have, which appear okay in other situations.

It's mostly the turn signals in the axis tails that seem to be kinda weak, and I've had people driving right behind me tell me that they couldn't see my signals! This was during sunrise.

Yeah they look great!!!!

Still thinking about getting those, but after my minor mods on my JDM Honda LED (pre-MMC) tails I love those too...

it's a design flaw the first time I saw those axis tails. Axis turn signal is flat on it's surface, it will only be most effective when you're looking at it directly or a slightly angled view. to effectively make it work... it should have been enclosed in reflector housing.

if you'll look closely at the stellarv (focus on the clear ones)

the parking/brake lights is in it's own reflecting housing, same with the turn/reverse lights, they are laid out to maximize off angle visibility.

I'll try to take some pics in a bit

Beautiful tail lights, I ended up getting a set of used JDM tails from Danny Pal. Can not tell from the pictures are they flush to the hatch?

What was the all-in price for the StellarV's if you don't mind? Deciding between the Axis and these at the moment. Stellar looks great on your car.

Awesome I see what you mean by the off angle design.

Would you happen to be able to take similar pics with the LEDs on?

Thanks

I am definitely thinking that the axis turn signals are weak. I wonder if there's a way to mod the signals to be brighter. I still really like their overall style better than the V's, but not at the cost of functionality.

I too had the oem jdm tails, trade my usd from a FFreak from Thailand.

I'll try to take pics with lights on.

As for the price on the stellarv, if I remember, I paid 575 shipped from J's racing. The website mow has them listed at 634 without shipping... yep, that's how the $ sucked today ;0
