Independent Fogs, sort of... Would This Work?
Independent Fogs, sort of... Would This Work?
Ok, for the GE8, it seems like there isn't a great solution to independent fogs. I believe I've read all of the threads, and its just tough.
What about this. Simply T-tap a wire from the parking lights (at the bulb harness), and connect it down to the fogs. (obviously both wires).
The result is this: if the parking lights are on, the fogs are on, without lowbeams. when the Lows are turn on, the fogs remain on, regardless of the fog switch, because if the lows are on, the parking lights must be on first.
So, at least you can have fogs without the lows- the sacrifice is that the the fogs would always be on with the lows, but I always drive that way anyway.
Question: What are the problems with this? Is the relay for the parking lights strong enough to power the fogs? Is there any issue of backfeeding the fog relay with power?
Thanks guys!
