Front emblem connected for power supply from headlight and rear one - from rear number lighting (also led)

I use DIY led license plate lights, made of 5 mm extra white leds.

You can find two report here - http://www.hondafit.ru/forum/index.php/topic,261.0.html

They overheated. There's a lot of garbage on the market. Don't buy anything that's intended to be bright (i.e. just about anything other than dim interior accent lighting) if it uses 5mm (or other) round LEDs or the tiny surface-mount ones; if you use those in a DIY project keep the current to around 5mA unless they're turn signals. Otherwise stick to pirhana-style, Luxeons, or something similar with heat sinks.

I can`t say anything about it, I found this example of installation somewhere on Japanese web and tried to make my own one.

I`m not clearly understand previous post about overheating, but I can tell that leds stay cold after hours of lighting. If you would like to made DIY led light you should use resistor about 220-250 mA per one led.

I bet that does look sweet on the street at night. Anybody due a simple light up of the little blue "jewel" in the dot on the "i" of Fit? I'm thinking 1 or 2 LEDs. Power is right there inside the hatch lid. I'm more concerned about the type of LED and the circuitry. I've the posts here about getting good LEDs, and not burning them up. Are we talking simple V=IR here? Just need to stick a resistor in series to limit the I?

In this case you're not depending on the LED to keep someone from crashing into you, and you're not mounting it beside hot lamps, so you don't have to worry much; just use a cheap 5mm LED and keep the current well below the rated maximum. R = 1.2K or 1.5K should be about right for a typical 'anonymous' blue LED.

I don't think the blue dot is translucent, so you'll probably have to replace it. If I were attempting it I'd start by trying clear epoxy with a drop of blue ink added.
