New Fit - Sound

I'm new here so, hey everyone.

I am 16 and I get my license fairly soon and I have had a Honda Fit sport for around two months now. I am planning on purchasing the music link once I am able to drive alone but besides that I feel a need for more sound. I am looking into getting a bass for the car also requiring me to get an amp. I really do not want to take up any space with these and I was wondering where would be a good spot that will be static even if the rear seats are down? On one forum I read that you can hide them under the rear seats but I am not really sure if they will get crushed or not based on how much space is under there when the seats are down.

Any ideas? If you have pictures of what you did with your sound system do be afraid to post them for me.

Thanks guys.

I plan to do more with this car once more kits come out for it. Since I am new to driving I probably won't be racing but more power and speed would be nice in this little car.

I don't know what type of music you listen to, or how much bass you are looking to add.

However, if you are looking to conserve the space in the back, I would suggest reading this thread:

I listen to a lot of pop/rap and I do want to add a good amount of bass not to much though I am also looking to conserve the complete rear of the vehicle because I plan to store things in there.

The link you provided is broken.

That is odd that the link is broken. If you search for Kenwood KSC-SW1 you'll get the same thread (and link).

But, this unit will likely not be satisfactory for you if you listen to rap music. It doesn't hit the lows real well.

You might look into a Bazooka Bass Tube or an Infinity Basslink (I think that is the name). I had a Bazooka in my old Civic and it was much better than the Kenwood unit, but it was larger than what I wanted in my Fit. However, it simply mounts with straps and has its own wiring harness that is easy to detach and remove the unit when you require the space.

I listen more to classic rock music, so the Kenwood fills out the sound quite nicely. I've flipped over to some of the hip-hop stations and there is a definite void of the real low end frequencies.

Thank you for the correct link. I'm having some odd Firefox issues today. Even though I copied and pasted the URL, it seemed to randomly cut pieces out of the link. Weird thing was when I went to edit, it always looked correct.

Anyway, I used IE and fixed my previous post as well.

Would it be possible to make a custom wooden box and frame it around the plastics on both sides of the trunk all the way in the back? I am sure if that was possible I could throw in 12" in the boxes.

Anything is possible if you have the materials and talent.

I have neither of these, so I buy prefabricated items.

I added the 10" 200watt bazooka tube. Fits nicely, doesn't take up much room at all. Nice sounding..

I'm working on my writeup, and part of it is hiding my sub amp, i already did the hi-low converter, but i have to redo it and make it proper (installing a harness between the two stock pieces, the car and the stereo). So much work, i'll make it really nice, and hope to get props from the people saying i suck =P
