JDM Gauge Cluster into USDM Fit

After tearing apart my gauge cluster for the first time, to test it with a JDM unit, I found out that it will not work for the most part. Reason I say for the most part is because there are a couple things that work and a couple that don't.

Things that DO work
-Tachometer
-Speedometer
-Gear indicator (A/T)
-Mileage (reads kilometer)

Things that DON'T work
-Fuel level (stays at empty)
-Sport shift gear indicator (number read 6th gear)
-SRS (airbag light stays on)
-EPS (electronic power steering light stays on)

That's about it, just incase anyone in the future needed to know or was wondering

It looks cool and all, but sucks that it doesn't work

JDM to USDM

that sucks.. are you sure the dials were working in the first place?

i presume it wont work the other way from JDM to USDM either then..

i had just imported a pearl white fit from japan- i was thinking of getting some USDM clusters for my JDM car as mine currently showing KPH instead of MPH (as used in UK)

the other option i was thinking was to use just the speedometer

(*if anyone has a spare set USDM guage dials / clusters from an Automatic Transmission car - let me know and i would be happy to take off their hands)

I know when I swapped in my JDM cluster into my Integra, I had to swap the green film for all dials/indicators to work properly. Also had to fill the tank and move the gas needle manually to full. After that, it worked fine.

I don't think I've seen this done, but you're going to need to find a wiring diagram for the JDM and USDM clusters. Compare the wiring diagrams and then start rewiring it to work properly.

Hey,

Sorry to bring this old thread up. I have installed an A/T jdm cluster (the one with greyish background and orange lights), as I couldn't find an M/T one on yahoo auctions. I have the above problems and an extra one:

-Tachometer doesn't work
-Fuel Meter
-EPS

Did you ever found out how to fix it? If not, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? Maybe the jdm sensors are different than the usdm sensors? I'm not worried about the EPS, as I can just pull off the light, but I do want the tachmeter and fuel to work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
