Where I put my GPS

This is where I put my GPS. I attached it on the left front small triangle window. I am right handed, but usually I don't touch it when I am driving, and it won't block my view... just a suggestion.

That's where I used to keep mine until I got my windows tinted, now I leave it in my center console or in the middles of my windshield.

Mine sits on top of the dashboard to the middle. I thought about putting it on the triangle window like you did but I am paranoid that it might randomly fly out the window on a turn or something since I usually drive with the window rolled down. Plus when it gets really hot I have already experienced the two sided tape coming off, I dont want it to happen with the unit so close to the window.

I have a Nuvi 360, and was planning on installing it in the same location once I got my fit.

Never thought of placing the GPS there...that's a great spot, easy to see, and out of the line of sight. Hmm...will this location affect deployment of the air curtain on the Sport models?

You might not get great signal strength there. Have you tried it yet?
Pro Fit has a bracket that clips into place in that area and it would put the the GPS out a little more for better signal.

same place as mine, but run your wires down and under the plastic near the pedals, keeps it clean. i have both the power and a stereo cable running, so i take my calls in surround sound.

Did the same thing...

Too funny. I just got my nuvi and installed it in the same place. In CA it is illegal to intall anything on the front windshield. My only concern is that if the window attatchment loses its suction and pops off, the gps unit might roll out the window if it is down too far.

As far as the signal, I have had no problems with the garmin nuvi. The new chipsets work really well. If you do have a problem, turn the unit on and leave it on the dash for a minute while it locates the signal. Once it locks in, then move it to the side window.

The suction cup will lose its sucky...ness IF you ever move it. But that is mostly due to it being dirty. I originally had the nuvi on the dash with the sticky plate, but then I moved it to the side and it REFUSED to stay on. I cleaned it with windex and that fixed the problem. It hasn't fallen off again since. And I've never had a problem getting reception at that location either.
