I'm looking to replace my stock stereo with a touchscreen double din in- dash reciever. After some research I've narrowed it down to a few models. The Pioneer and Alpine are my favorites. Both units run the about the same price on ebay $650-$700. They both have good ipod interface and sat radio functions. The only major difference is that the Pioneer has Nav and the Alpine dosn't. I don't really need the Nav, I just want a good 6-7 inch touchscreen DVD/CD/Ipod unit. Is the Alpine that much better for the same price without nav? Thanks for any advice or comments.

 

the Pioneer AVIC D3 is by far the suprior choice. It has a 24 bit DAC, 7 band EQ.. it's actually designed for good sound. The Alpine is just a run of the mill double din unit that can dock an alpine Blackbird II prtable nav unit right into it. whichs takes up alot of useful space for high quality compnents
