Single Din Units

This thread is for those that are interested in the Single Din Units...

Im looking to get this one.. for its price and what features.. You can't beat it

Walmart.com - Always Low Prices!

Any other decent single din LCD units that are good?

Looking for
DVD
IPOD
MAYBE GPS....
I know with the GPS feature the price jumps up an extra $300-$400....

My reasoning behing the single din over the double is for security purposes... Having the unit tucked away when not using is nice rather than having the screen up front and center.. Are there any drawbacks to single din? double?

Your link redirects to the main WalMart site.

Could you post the product name, or id?

I was wondering if they release the U.S version of single din unit? can someone list the link, price, and pix.
Another thing, educate me if i'm wrong but, how can you used the walmark generic single din when HONDA FIT radio compartment is custom? plz have "how too " detail on how to do this, cuz im curious.

Also does anyone have any experience with the dual dvd unit. you can find it at walmart.

I believe he means that the radio itself is "single din"...as opposed to "double din". You will still need the kit manufactured by either Scosche or Metra to actually install this in your Fit. Single and double din specifies only the size of the cd player or video unit. For example, a full-faced dvd/nav player would be a "double din" unit.

There's one in the works but it hasn't been released yet...see the Scosche thread for more info. It's gonna run you about $100-$120 retail for the kit and the adapter.

?????

my local audio installment place said that they would be able to order me the radio kit for 89 dollar and $42 for them to install (they look this up in their computer)... hmmmmmmmm why is it going to cost so much, when in walmart, amazon, and everywhere else it like 15 or 16 buck for other honda model. do you think that my audio installment place is lying that they would be able to get it for me, or do you think that it will be generic model?

Well, you have to take into account how much R&D had to go into the fabrication of a Fit radio kit. It required the replacement of a large piece off the dash that included your A/C controls, rear defrost, and passenger airbag indicator. That's going to drive up the cost vs. a standard kit for many vehicles that don't require that much specialized work to be done.
