In-Dash Double Din In Car PC?
So, I found this really cool thing. It's a double DIN unit, with a crap load of "stuff". The regular stuff, like navigation, radio, DVD video, MP3s, etc; but this unit is an actual COMPUTER! --Has Windows XP on it and everything! --This makes the possibilities endless when it comes to additional software and skins for the thing...
My question is, for you guys who have already taken apart your dash, will this thing fit? I don't want to order it, and then it end up being too long or something...
Thanks!

Ya, I did see some linux based ones, but they seems to be pretty far behind the "StreetDeck" software; and after checking out the forums at StreetDeck, there seems to be a ton of people working on add-ins; a pretty big community... --Plus, I'm horrible at doing advanced linux stuff; I just never really got into it, and I am so much more used to Windows...
I'm still curious however, how much room there is to mount something like this in the dash. Maybe I'll just get a touch screen, and then build a mini PC and mount it under my seat and run wires or something... -But then I'd have to find a way to power my speakers since I would not longer have an actual head unit if I went this route...

I do not know what unit you are looking at but if it is a double din unit it should fit. I have had a pc in my last 2 cars it s a great way to go I have not installed on in the fit yet but will soon waiting for a new monitor.
I have always gone the mini pc route something will break at some point and its my opinion its easier cheaper to repair upgrade ext component systems.
