Question Fold Down Face Receivers compatible?

I was about to order a new receiver from crutchfield and saw a note that "fold down face receivers may not fit your vehicle"

I did a search of the forums and couldn't find anything about it. Anyone have any problems with fold down face receivers?

Thanks,

they mean about specs not compatibility... I don't know if it'll fit but a quick measure should tell you pretty quick

Are you looking at double din or single din units? Single din will work without a problem since it'll have the pocket underneath it. As far as double din, that'll probably depend on what you get. The only ones that I've worked with are the Kenwoods, and I'm pretty sure that will work in my GD3.

This should help you get an idea:

Yes it's also a 1-DIN head unit - specifically, the Pioneer DEH-P7950UB. It's sold as the DEH-P6900UB in the US.

The face is motorized. Never had any fitment or snagging problems with it

Here's another photo with the face closed.

I gotta have the iPod link. And I also want the features / improved sound quality of the aftermarket stereo. I've had a couple in the past too, and aside from getting stolen, they haven't given me any problems.

personally i just don't like the folding down part of em. they're better than stock but they get dirty inside pretty easily and then start having problems as they get a bit older

Oh, well, I guess i've never had one long enough to find out. Hopefully my alarm will help me see how long this one lasts. Thanks for the heads up though!

no problem. they're nice just make sure if you see dust collecting when you fold it down to clean it every so often and it should be ok
