Aftermarket Rear View Mirrors? Gentex?

Hi,

Just wondering what is available for the Honda Fit in terms of replacement rear view mirrors? Specifically ones will added features (auto dimming, compass, thermometer, lights)

The Gentex K31 looks ideal - does anyone know if this installs into a Fit?

Any other options out there?

Thanks!

Gentex works great!

I never heard from anyone on here so I took the plunge and tried a Gentex on our new Fit. It works super. The guy that installed the new xm radio for me charged $10.00 to install it. FYI, all Gentex mirrors mount on the windshield versus in the headliner like the stock mirror so when ordering make sure you get a "button" to glue on the windshield.

Taller rear-vew mirror

Hi,

I've been looking at rear view mirrors too, though I don't want anything fancy, just a taller mirror so I can see the entire height of the back window. My local auto parts stores only seem to sell wider, panoramic mirrors, which isn't the dimension I want. Plus they're clip on rather than a proper part.

Anyone an ideas? Perhaps from a truck?

Also has anyone removed the existing mirror? I had a go at the plastic cover over the mount but it didn't seem to want to come off.

Thanks!

The plastic cover is just held in with friction, you'll need to slide it back and then pull outwards. or maybe its slide forward

I'm also interested in this... Temp/Compass is a nice addition and it would solve the fit's maplight problem.

My only concern is that these Gentex mirrors attach to the windshield and not to the headliner like OEM fit mirrors. How do you get them on? Does removing the stock mirror leave a big hole in the headliner or anything?

Does anyone have any thoughts? Or any tips for wiring a mirror such as this or running the cable for the sensor? Are there other options for temp/compass that will wire directly to the car and not use the 12v power source?

removing the factory mirror will leave a small hole in the front of the plastic cover that is arround the base of the mirror, however it will not be very visible. Gentex mirrors come kits with everything you need to install them and instructions.
