Perfect replacement stock head unit..

Pioneer FH-P8000BT CD receiver with Bluetooth® capability at Crutchfield.com

Pioneer FHP8000BT

looks near stock?.. still be clean and not as outrageous as dvd system...
should be able to work a nice system around this.. too bad not out yet.. release date seems to be april.. yeah.. just realized other day too.. there's no key lock for the glove.. so removeable faces aren't too helpful unless you take it with ya.. who really does?? huhh? first post.. but so far love reading the info on the forum.. just got my 08 fit on president's day.. and i keep enjoying my purchase the longer i have this car..

Congrats on the new fit. I checked the link and im digging the pioneer deck. That would really look good in the car and close enough to oe that you could get away with it. Some DVD/Nav systems look oe aswell. I should know cause i have one. Haha. Welcome to Fitfreak!!!

It'll fit and for double din units the Scoche dash kit is MUCH better. Looks like a decent head unit spec wise. has a clean look (reminds of the motorola razr)

im thinking because it's not released yet.. so maybe crutchfield doesn't have the specs.. and automatically leaves it stating "doesn't fit".. at least that's what i'm hoping.. we'll see i think april 08? thanks for the 'welcome' everybody..

Scosche kit? All the pics i have seen of them installed have had fitment issues thats why i went with Metra. Hmm... Maybe it was a bad batch or something. My metra kit fits near perfect. Go figure

The metra kits do in general fit better. But the design of it is really for a single DIN head unit and a pocket. We've had some problems with double din head units fitting, specially those with motorized faces.

Damn, I already got the Metra, and was planning on going 2DIN. Are there any units you've installed that fit well?

Does your head unit have a motorized face?. if not then it's no real problem. Just probably need to modify the trim ring that comes with the metra kit.

If it is motorized. you might not be able to use the trim ring at all.

It's not that the ehad unit won't fit. It's just a matter of the cosmetic trim ring clearance

Didn't buy a HU yet, still trying to decide. Any 2DIN suggestions in the $400 range?

if it's just a ehad unit Pioneet FH-800BT. If it's fa DVD player/screen... nothing at that price range gets my reccomendation.

it's not a screen, it's just a head unit. I personally would go with a single din unit if it's just a head unit, like the new 800PRS

not necesarily. Pioneer is going to back to "clean" looking diplays, OEL and screensaver head units add noise to the sound. SImpler dislays allow for better sound.

I find it hard to believe that someone could hear a diff. Spec in a fit. Either way if I buy a new HU I want it to look new and display text clearly.

Dot matrix is the way to go.
