blinkers wont work!! i need help!
so i took out my gauges and unplugged my hazzard switch and drove my car down to my house. the next day (today) i put the gauges back in. i had a check engine light but i disconnected the battery and it went away. now my blinkers dont work. my buddy said its probably because i disconnected the hazzard switch. so i reconnected it, my blinkers still dont work. i disconnected my battery again and tried it but they just are dead! they blink when i hit the alarm but not when i switch the turn indicator arm on the steering column. how can i fix this?? please help!
hmm that's strange. Never heard of that happening. I know that the turn signals have 2 go through the hazard switch to operate so thats why the turn signals didnt work when u had ur hazard disconnected. the only way i would think 2 fix this is to disconnect ur battery, disconnect the gauges and the hazard switch completely. Turn on ur headlights to drain any existing power left in the circuitry. Then reconnect the hazard and the gauges, making sure u plug all of em back in. Then reconnect the battery and give it a try.
thanks for the suggestion kevin. i tried that and they still arent working. i dont get it. my fuses are fine, and everything is plugged in except the headunit and the hvac. ugh!!
yes. everything works fine except for the hazard switch and the blinkers. i checked all the connections and all plugs are ok. im thinking its either a bad wire or i somehow damaged the hazard switch housing because i know that in hondas, the blinkers wont work if the hazard switch is unplugged.

im just wondering if there is a "safe mode" that the ecu goes through to protect the circuitry from shorting out. if i have to take my car to honda to get plugged into the computer and reset, i am going to be pissed!
I'm betting one of the connectors you disconnected around the gauges has a loose pin. It probably isnt making contact so your hazards and blinkers arent working. I'm sure the blinkers get their power from a different source when you hit the keyless entry. Look over your connectors real good, make sure you dont have a loose or broken pin. Or like said above... you could try this...
so, i was messing with the hazard switch and i guess when i took it out, the plastic casing on the inside came apart. it snapped back together and voila! my blinkers work!! yay. i was stressing bad about this. i am thanking my lucky stars that it was a simple fix.
oh and i topped off my blinker fluid
oh and i topped off my blinker fluid
