In-Dash GPS - Which is best and what else is needed

So I'm thinking about putting an in-dash GPS into my Fit (once I finally get it). I was wondering, what is the best kind to get for the Fit (runs flush with dash, looks good, etc.) as well as what other materials will be needed. I'm pretty new to this and it will be installed by a pro as I would just make a mess of it. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

best bang for the buck is a Pioneer Avic D3.

I've considered it, but the in-dash GPS is much cleaner looking.

Thanks!

Is there any other material needed to get this in the car?

Pioneer's Avic-D3 is discontinued now, if you can find one it's a great unit at a great price.

Otherwise, wait till next month for Pioneer's new F-series navigation units. They look pretty darn sweet.

I've always loved Pioneer. The F series will probably cost an arm and both legs maybe...I'll probably end up getting a D3. One thing at a time lol

Not really, the F500BT will retail at around $600, with the F700 and F900 in the $800 and $1000 range. That's right where the D3 was when it was new.

The D3 is a fantastic deal right now if you can find one. Myself, I'm waiting for the F500BT. Don't have to replace the existing system, and you get ALL of the features of the F900, minus of course the DVD capabilities.

I didn't know they'd be under $1,000. I'm pretty sure Pioneer has a D4 or something even higher right now that retails almost $2,000.....

Yup, the AVIC-Z3. That's their high-end.
