Thank God, another sane person!
An average price good cable is more than enough for all but the ture audiophile in a sound booth. With all of the raod noise, in any car, would the average joe notice the difference between a 5 dollar cable or a 30 dollar cable? This is especially true when pluging into a headphone jack that is full of dust and other stuff from the environement.

What realy bugs me is those $300 1M long HDMI cables. It's digitial! Either there is a signal or there isn't! My $30 cable is just fine, and in my opinion still overpriced!

Yep I agree! monoprice.com is the way to go for all audio/video cables!

I agree. Digital cables are digital cables. Don't get me wrong, there ARE some BAD digital cables out there (the price will tell you that). But 1's and 0's are still 1's and 0's through a $20 cable or a $200 cable.

Where more $$ cables excel is in their shielding and grounding techniques. thus reducing outside interferences. Monster's whole "Frequancy Allignment" theries, etc. are IMHO a little over the top. But they are very well shielded. I work in the Audio/Music industry and I have a few Monster cables, but I do not 'subcribe' to the hype. Like stated in the previous quote, 'add road noise in a car' and you are sure not to hear the remote poss. of any difference.
