most of alpine's stuff you'd need to buy the navi seperately, but if you're willing to do so, the w505 and the alpine nve-p1(comes with blue tooth built in) or the alpine w203/p1 which is a w203 /w the pi nav in a package. but for something simple, i'd look into pioneer or kenwood for a all in one solution that you're wanting. more people will chime in.

^ yup the only way to go... We had a customer come into my friend's store years ago wanting to build a competition stereo in his Del Sol. The only piece he already had was his mega $$$ Pioneer head unit we told him to throw it out and get an Alpine but he refused... anyway, built a $10k system, tons of beautiful work and just couldn't get it to sound right, guy was pissed. Bet him if we pulled out his Pioneer and put in a $299 Alpine out of the Display board it would fix all of the problems and he was like "whatever, that thing was $900! blah blah"

Wouldn't you know it... all the noise was gone!

I've always sworn by Alpine in my 18 years in car audio, always will!

in terms of double din, their stuff isnt as great for true audio enthusiats, but their single din 9887 is pretty good, but in your case, you want something simple, all in one package, pioneer and kenwood fit those needs better than alpine IMO. Alpine has gotten worse over the years

for my GE8 i'm waiting on double din dash kits to come out for the non navi unit. Want to install a head unit that will control a rear monitor while I listen to sattelite radio up front.

Kenwood and Pioneer have taken over the business. Alpine has been in the pooper. I do love the Kenwood interface better than the Pioneer. Garmin is already on board on a bunch of their models.

I don't like Pioneer's new F's as much as the D3. If I could find a BNIB D3 I'd so friggin get it. As of right now, I'm leaning towards Kenwood 7series

Just don't get a unit that you have to swap in the nav dvd every time you want to specify a new route...

I have the F900 and I LOVE it! The update they released Boots WAY faster than before. Im up and fully booted in 30 seconds now. Along with running windows CE and all the available hacks... I think this is the Best all in one unit with the most potential to also add more things to it.
