The install was actually pretty easy, and this is the first one I have done myself. The DIYs on removing the HU were very helpful (especially the part where they recommend keeping track of the little metal clips that hold the plastic trim in place!) Be aware, that if you are installing the 3100 Pioneer you will lose the metal cage that surrounds the factory HU, this contains the weld nuts that the screws go into from underneath that hold the plastic trim piece on. It isn't that big of a deal, but it makes those little metal clips pretty crucial. No, i did not get the Bluetooth module, nobody but my wife calls me and I can pull over to talk to her LOL Good Luck!

Here's mine

It's a Kenwood KDC-MP442U CD Receiver. So far it's a learning process as it's got about 200 ways to get around, but it's got a nifty remote, removeable faceplate, front Aux and USB input. All that AND it makes the factory shi..i mean speakers sound 50x better.

Now to figure out a good reason to get new speakers up front and to wrangle some sound proofing in the front and the back floors.

I wish I could get the factory radio control buttons and install on mine and get them to work with my new HU when I get it installed.

I have a GD (08 Sport) If you are talking about the steering wheel audio controls, it can be done! You need to know which HU you plan on installing and get the appropriate adaptor to allow that HU to interface with the factory steering wheel controls.

I know which HU, it's a Pioneer AVHP3100, and yes, it's the factory steering wheel controls I want to install. Do you know where I would get the part number for the adapter I would need ? I do have the steering wheel controls part #36770-TK6-A41, I just need to know what adpater to connect the two and how hard it would be ?

Sony Xplod w/remote and 12" Rockford Fosgate Sealed Woofer
Scosche Kit
It's an Indash DVD player that I disabled the safety feature on so passengers can watch DVDs while the car is in motion. I've got it hooked up to my 2G iPod Touch. 200 Watt RMS Fosgate Woofer rounds out the sound very nicely but the speakers in the doors could use the upgrade.

I believe it was a Metra but I'm not positive. It came from Crutchfield w/ my HU and was in unmarked plastic bag. I will be taking the dash panal off tomorrow to hopefully install my sirius and bluetooth adapters(provided UPS comes early enough), so I'll see if the panal has the type on the inside of it and let you know.

I have to say, whatever brand it is, the color matches well to the rest of the dash and everything bolted on well.

generally Scosche kits are said to be better quality, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. the Scosche kit in my car is pretty good actually

Have you found any way of connecting the IPOD from the rear instead of the front of the HU ? This drives me crazy to have wires hanging out of my dash going to the glove box. When i bought it I thought you could connect to the rear.
