Anyone pull out their USA FIT stereo?

Anyone pull out their USA FIT stereo? I would like to some pictures
or perhaps a manual picture of the back of the head unit/stereo.

Since the USA version of the BASE Fit does not come with an AUX jack,
I read that perhaps one of the computer CD-ROM to motherboard audio cables
would work as input to the back of the head unit. Of course
the other end could be a 1/8" input jack for my player.
I would rather have the AUX jack plug in the glove box than down on the
console anyways.

If you look at the optional aux jack for the 06 Civic, the jack plugs into the radio sub harness, and communicates on the the data bus. Knowing how Honda makes most things standard, the same adapter will likely work in the base Fit. Or contact your local dealer and get them to order it (cable for the Sport).

Ok, according to the online manual on hondapartsdeals.com here is the part needed to add the Aux jack on a base Fit.

39112-SAA-J02ZA JACK ASSY., AUX IN

I can't find the damn cable. Someone with a US base modle should check to see if there's a loose plug under the console near the cigarette lighter, I wouldn't be surprised if it was there.

b17gsr: I thought all the Canadian FITs (DX/LX/EX) come with
the AUX port.

Fillmatic: I guess you have a USA FIT (base model) and didn't find the
loose plug as shown

Fillmatic: Are you going to add a AUX port? (Guess there's a couple of extra
pins available on the back of the head unit.)????

No, i'm pulling the factory head unit out and replacing the bezel with the Mexican market bezel and inserting a Nav unit in its place.

Fillmatic,

From your photos it looks like there might be a six-pin vehicle connector where the aux. jack harness would connect to...Can you just double check for us desperate base owners who want to use the Civic Aux part?

If it's really not there, my guess is down the line at some point Honda will eventually offer it for the Fit.

See if this link works:

I'm also very curious to know if it's possible to install an AUX jack in a base Fit. Being that I'm completely clueless when it comes to stuff like this, if someone figures it out would you please post detailed instructions? Thanks!

The price is going to be around $170 for the Mexican Panel peices, this includes taxes and s/h.

If you are still interested send me a PM and I can tell you how to get a more accurate quote and I will share with you the method I used to get the parts into the US.

Check this out. Auxiliary hookup for factory headunit in the Fit. I am going to do something similar in my post below.

FYI the aussie's aux hookup did not work for the NA Base Fit.
