Any one here have the Harman kardon drive and play installed? Any worries about theft?

 

i had the old one, it recently pooped out on me.. still have the screen mounted in the little window- just chillen..
i wouldn't recommend it just bc it died so soon, not bc of theft...

 

I've been using the original HK unit for 20 months with no issues and love it. I have one in my wife's Element and have no issues there either. I use mine 2 -3 hours daily in my commute to and from work. And about theft. I park on the streets of residential and commercial sections of Detroit all the time, and I am more worried about my rims than the HK.

 

Thanks for the replies. I decided to get the HK. Hopefully theft isn't an issue because i hear stories of people getting their car broken into for air fresheners.

 

the unit works great -
only had a few complaints:
**you cant select all songs-- say you have a few albums for an artist... you can only play one album at a time - there is no "play all" listed.
(besides the play everything option, i mean just for one specific artist- while you are browsing)
**scrolling thru a large list, would go nice and slow then jump crazy far past...
**no updating ratings
** freezes occasionally- shouldn't freeze ever. (the way i see it)
i found i would unplug my ipod and use the click-wheel- which i hate -- the reason i got a controller.
just to have it do what i wanted.

BUT most of the time it rocked.
if someone wants it then they will try to get it. just do a clean install and it wont be as big of a target.

i drilled a hole in the center console and routed my wires underneath..
