i don't think we answered our man's question....he wants a way to see past the rear view mirror...

Newayz homeboy, i think you might need to change ur driving style. Try reclining your seatback rest a lil more so ur line of sight will be slightly lower. it might take some time adjusting but it will answer ur question. Plus, u'll look cool reclinin while drivin. =]

Many possibilities...

Checkout ebay. There are many mirrors pulled from other cars available for cheap (around $50) with all sorts of functions including Home link. Nearly all the OEM mirrors are made by the same company; MITO/Gentex. You can also buy the mirror mount, harness and the wiring cover so that it will look factory installed. I do expect that these mirrors use the external temp sensor from the engine management system. We just have to find how to tap that wire. I wouldn't worry too much about using a used mirror. They seem to be bullet proof in service. Also some of he OEM mirror styles are much superior to the generic mirrors offered to the public.
