DIY Vinyl covering for rear compartment

I am reluctant to call it a trunk , but I picked up some vinyl coverings for the trunk. they're 27" wide and I purchased 9 ft of this. The baseboard on the back is 28x40.5", so you will see a small gap near the seat.. No big deal. But the results are really nice and if you don't want to spend 87 bucks on the rubber cargo mat, this is hard to beat for $5. The hard part is cutting it to flush. You can see some of the mistakes on my take, but it still looks pretty slick. Now I can start tossing gear back there without having to worry. I am going to re-line the rear seats. I notice they have really nice 27" carpeting as well and should cost no more than $15 to reline the rear passenger seat's flooring. I was thinking of having it flush throughout so that the center portion doesnt get beat up. Have fun!

BTW, I went to two home depots and one didn't have it. So don't give up so easily.

Do you have something stopping it from sliding? Or does it have that kind of functionality by itself?

Looks nice. I have the oem cargo tray which is sweet though. One thing it has that saved my ass is the lip all around the edge. I put some lawn chairs in the trunk which had been outside.... rusty water leaked out all over the trunk. Thankfully the cargo tray kept it all on the tray. So, one thing you may want to think about is how to add something like this to your diy install.

Very nice though!

it helps if you have some velcro in the back, so it doesnt get stuck to your floor and mess it up lookin ulgy
