the other models have a shelf under the dash, that might be why the contour is totally different..

Ben from A&J Racing had his installed and had to modify a lot of the area behind the HVAC control for it to fit. He also had to buy the AC & Rear Defrost switches.

Another user cut the double din bracket just above the AC/Defrost switches and used the bottom half of the original.

Do a search and you can find both posts about this.

I hope you can return those brackets you've got ordered!
thats wat I thought too

No, I don't. New developments coming soon. I've not given up on this project, yet.

I am negotiating with a manufacturer right now. He has sent me a price for the mold and to manufacture an OE quality double-din bezel for the USDM Fit. My question to you Guys is, how much are you willing to pay for the bezel? Please post only if you are really interested in getting this piece. I'm gauging interest and if there is no market for it, I will drop the project. Thanks for your input.

I am interested on it. What is the price range do you think you can get it for?

The mold is the expensive item. I need to shell out the money for mold and I don't know if I can get much interest just to recoupe my money for the mold.

maybe you should look into how many people might be intersted, figure out the costs, and then start collecting deposits before you give the ok for your manufacturer.

$75 or under and I'd buy for sure....under 100 definately though. Anything with 3 digits gets on the wife radar. =)

You could also sell them on ebay. Much bigger market than here on fitfreak.

We are trying to gauge interest from the car/audio enthusiast before we look at the outside market. This will give us a good idea on how many units we will order. The manufacturer is a supplier of plastic parts for a major car manufacturer in Europe. The final product will be OE or else we don't accept it.

Keep us posted, i'm sure you could get at least 10-20 to start, and then it would grow from there as supply on the fit grows.

I'd imagine the basemodel people would defenitly be interested in this product.

One for me please. I'm still trying to decide between the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 and the Eclipse AVN7000. I like the features of the Pioneer, but I had a Toyota with nav before, and the Eclipse uses the same software... which kicked ass. *shrug*

I'd be willing to spend up to 149.99 plus tax, absolute maximum. I'd just bought a new headunit, sub, and 6x9 speakers for my old car when it got totalled, and I'd really like to put them in my new Fit.
