One MP3 Solution
One MP3 Solution For Non Sport Owners
I looked at the many and expensive MP3 sticks and decided I wanted
something bigger and more versatile.
Now this works for me and you will have to try your own Portable DVD
player and see if it works. Especially if they will skip while driving.
I bought a Mustek MP72 for $99 and it comes with an auto power supply and ear buds.
The power works on the Fit and I plugged in a patch cord to
the phone jack into the AUX and it works fine.
The MP72 also plays music with the cover closed and the phone jack used.
Only drawback is having to use the tiny remote to find the right folder for
the music you decide to play. I used Roxio-MP3 CD Project and am testing
other burner programs to see if they will work.
Besides the music of course is the DVD movies you can watch and JPEG's.
I still have to find patch connectors for my Digital camera.
246 MP3 songs on one CD, 12 1/2 hours! LOL Used only 249 MB.
For just cruising I play Chicane's "Far from The Maddening Crowds."

The stock head unit in the Fit Sport plays MP3s from CD. That's just about good enough for most people.
Other than that, I'd get that Harman Kardon deal with the remote and display for iPods and use my Nano.

[quote=b17gsr]Yeah, I'm loving the MP3 playback from the Sport head unit. I'll probably upgrade the speakers next year.
Good to hear. Can you share what software you are using to create your CD's?
Folder structure, naming songs, etc. Thanks.
What I mean is, after the CD is in, how do you sort and pick the music you want to hear.

I’m currently using Nero (not Roxio) since it came with the burner.
No folder = folder 01. Other folders are assigned sequential numbers depending on the name. Right now I’m using the following folder titles: “New Stuff”, “Old Stuff”, “Remixes” and “Summer Stuff”. They end up in alphabetical order unless you pad them with a digit at the begining.
The head unit forces all the characters to upper case. I drop whatever MP3 into whatever folder, check that the artist and song title tags are correct. If I want the songs to play in a specific sequence, I place 01, 02, etc at the beginning. If not, they play in alphabetical order (it truncates to a maximum of around 50 characters on the display). I find the random button isn’t that random.
I’ve burned two discs and it was effortless and very handy for long drives.
Much better sound than I get from my Ipod Shuffle, damn headphone preout.

That's wierd, I sorted all of my MP3s into folders. but when I pop in the CD, it doesn't read. So I ended up with 150 songs on the CD. Takes forever to get to one song I want.
Also, I sorted out the songs on the CD when I burned it, but when I pop in the CD, all the tracks are mixed up.
I DON'T GET IT!!

Opps, I'm using Nero, no Roxio.
What software did you use to burn the disc? IIRC I used the burn MP3 disc option. I simply created some folders in the software and dragged + dropped the songs into the various folders. The disc burnt the songs into alphabetical order.
