Rattling Radio Controls!

OK - I plan on taking this up w/ the service department when I bring it in for its first service/ oil change - but just in case anyone has a quick fix for it ...

I get a rattle from my radio controls....driving me insane! I've isolated it to the "AM/FM" button - it has more play (its more loose) than the other buttons (cd, aux, etc) and when going over any rough roads - rattles like there's no tomorrow...

Can this be fixed short of either taking the whole radio apart or replacing???

Anything I can do?

Thanks

This "feature" means that you:

1. Don't have your stereo turned up loud enough, and
2. That you shouldn't be driving down railroad tracks!!

I would take it to the dealer if it is as bad as you say.

If you can wait, like you mentioned, them you might want to try something like putting some tape over it to keep it quiet for the time being.

Good luck!

Angry Same with mine!

Stupid AM/FM button rattling like mad. Overall, the quality of the car is fantastic at 12,000 miles. No rattles or squeeks at all, but only if I keep my finger on the button. My next service I'll have the dealer fix it.

Trowpa, any luck with yours?

rattle

I hear a rattle within the vicinity of the radio deck too. I can't figure out what it is. I tried holding every button down but the noise continues mainly on rough highway. I think It's coming from behind the radio. Very ANNOYING!

Angry Radio buttons...

For this rattle, it's easy to replicate, since I can tap the button and it makes the noise quite loudly. It seems it's the spring behind the button making the noise, with the other buttons being solid. Either way, the dealer should investigate/correct the issue for you.

Hear an annoying ticking sound when tapping on the steering wheel. Happens regardless if car is on or off. Even light tapping causes the noise. It sounds like an open lid noise or something. Like the lid of a gatorade, click click.
