New guy here from Southern Cali. About 2 months ago I got the itch to purchase a honda fit since my 07 Tacoma drinks gas like crazy (Averaging 14mpg). My mom owns a 2013 and I've driven it a few times and love how economical it is and very easy to work on as well. My first vehicle was a 93 Honda Accord EX 4 door, I really enjoyed that car, but it got totalled back in 04. Well I wanted to get back to my Honda roots lol, so a few days ago I ended up buying this 09 from the 2nd owner. It only has a little over 35k miles with dealer installed leather seats and sunroof. Im very glad I ran into this forum, so many cool mods and some very nice looking Fits!!

Worked on the first part of the steering wheel audio controls. Tomorrow I'll be running the wires from the clock spring to the radio. I might go to the local salvage yard and cut part of the radio harness out to use some of the pins.
Scored an extra light for the hatch area from the salvage yard. So I got the wiring ready, now I just need to tap into the one that's in there. Going to try to add it to the right side to get a good coverage of light back there.
Found these ambient lights off of a honda CR-Z that was at my local salvage yard. Added to driver side footwell, trim above the cup holder and passenger side footwell. Made a harness and tapped into the wire that turns on the corner lights and headlights. I got an extra two lights that I am going to try to add to the rear.
The one on the far right is the one I added to the cup holder area, since its a bit darker. I added the lights to the recessed area. Same with this one Cleaned off area with razor blade to drill the hole for the light. Not perfect, but it works.
Well we got some rain last week and I decided to have something do inside the house. It's a very simple mod to do, literally two wires that need to be connected. For the ground, I just tapped in directly to the door, and for the hot wire I just fished through the door grommet and tapped into the wires that trigger the blinkers. The Insight LED lights fit perfect on the Fit housing, you just need to screw them on. For the wire going from the door to inside the cabin, make sure you leave it long enough to somewhat drag to the bottom of the door and then into the grommet, because if its not, you will have issues when lowering your glass. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Covers finally painted Had some extra wires with pins that I had bought from my local dismantling yard. IT'S ALIVE!!! Harness complete Passenger side grounded to door. Driver side grounded Found it easier to unplug the harness in order to fish the coat hanger through. Driver Side Passenger Side
Throughout the past few months I've been hunting down the parts to do a 5 lug conversion. Today I scored these 3 RSX wheels for 80 bucks, can't beat it. So far I only need to order the front rotors, emergency cables, custom brake lines for the rear, and an extra RSX wheel. I ended up getting some extra fit knuckles so I wont have to take apart the existing ones on my car, since they have very low miles on them, I'll just resell them.
Well I decided to tackle the leaking antenna issue on my Fit. Since I was planning on adding dynamat to the roof area, I decided to drop the whole headliner, but since my GE8 has an aftermarket sunroof I had to get the whole thing reupholstered, because the fabric was tucked into the area around the sunroof. Once I get the headliner back in ill add some photos of the finished product.
The nut for the antenna was loose, so I tightened it and hosed the antenna area down, but it was still leaking. So I decided to add a thin bead of SEM seam sealer to the bottom of the gasket, siliconed the inside and added blue loctite to the nut. I gave it a few days to dry and sprayed it again with the hose and no more leaks.
Next few pictures are of the dynamat that was added. I only did the roof, hatch door, hatch area and spare tire floor. I also added some material called Refelctix to help with the heat. I also added some of that material to the back of the plastics. Next project will be to remove seats and carpet and add dynamat to the floor and doors.
Lastly, since I had everything apart I also installed this little JBL bass pro nano in the hatch area. Tried to install it under the seat but it was too tall. Made a cutout with the dremel for the speaker
Mocked up
added some vinyl edge trim to give it that clean look.
on the back I added some foam pieces to help with the rattling.
All wired up
