i got my led light in the mail yesterday. i actually left work an hour early because i was so excited about getting it.

the design and over all quality of this dome light is amazing, i couldnt be happier with it. thanks for the great product man.

ha! last night i played the designated driver, when my brother got into the car he looked up at the new light and told me that it was like starring into 5 suns only after some one threw salt and squirted lime juice in your eyes... i guess that means that it is really bright.

This LED is by far the most superior product I have seen. It "Fit"s so perfectly in the dome without any modification. Now, if only something could be designed for the hatch spot

I got the led dome light today and installed it. Like others, I was impressed with the design and construction of this thing. High quality. It certainly looks bright, but will have to wait for night to see how bright.

If anyone is wondering, as I was, there are two copper-looking bands on the back of the circuit board that fit into the same clips that the stock bulb fits into. The board fills all of the available space behind the lens. There is no squeezing or modifying, everything fits nice.

When it is lit you can clearly see the individual LEDs through the lens.

I'll try to put a pic in here if anyone wants another view than the original pick alexfree put up.

Thanks!

Just got mine, like 5 minutes ago. Freaking NICE quality! I thought it was going to be some average-quality DIY job. haha

Thing is, how the hell do I install it, does the dome light cover just pop off? I was looking at it the other night but it doesn't seem to have any visible easy way to pop it off. Maybe stick a flathead screwdriver in there to pry it? I don't know... Guess I gotta search around a bit...

i just shoved an old gift/credit card type thing in there. it took a bit of wiggling but once you slide it in the you can just pop off the cover.

There are two small slots for popping off the dome light lens. They are on the front side. I used a small flathead screwdriver. It left tiny marks on one side, on the rubber seal outside the lens. Maybe the credit card idea or something else a little softer would be better than a screwdriver.

Yeah, I used a knife blade, of course kinda jabbed the edge a bit but not much. Didn't realize it just easily pops out. Super easy install. Crazy bright. The color seems a bit weird though, like a flourescent light or somethin, so I might stick a subtle color filter in there to give it a more "natural" tone.

I managed to short the circuit when I was testing to see the amperage at the rear hatch light, cuz I was looking at making my own simple LED array so the rear hatch lights up better. It's the "Backup" fuse under the hood, if you happen to short that circuit while messing with the dome light or rear hatch light.

Maybe you guys should look into making a super bright trunk light as the one now seems so dull compared to my new dome light
