Because it makes you feel better about how much money you blew on wheels that look exactly like them?

It all comes down to quality.
I'm not going to say I rock real deal wheels on all my cars because I don't. I run autocross with 15" Konig Heliums because they were cheap and light. Not all Rotas are crap and not all Mugens are golden. I've seen Mugens that look tight but weigh too much. We drive a Honda not a Hyundai for a reason. The Hyundai Accent is plain crap. People will always hate on something or someone but they do it for a reason. Sometimes the reasons make sense. But not the Konig Reasons. Those are F U G L Y!

There's a difference in burnt metal i.e. your lug nuts and "flamboyant" rims.

but you do realize you are driving one of the slowest and cheapest
cars on the market... you can put rocket launchers on your Fit hoping
for respect, but you are still driving a Fit with rocket launchers...
and probably without rockets cause you maxed out your creditcard.

you think you're getting respect but you really aren't. you have
to be able to go outside the ring and face the world. then you know
where you really stand. then you realize it's about balance.

alright let me get this straight..... The trend now is to hate Rota because they make an affordable version that look identical to wheels twice the price.... Basically they are hated because they aren't the real deal.

But it is the cool thing to put Jazz logos on your Fit or red type R emblems on what is obviously not a type R. It's cool to have mugen replica sideskirts and knock off front lips, the J's racing front grill isn't worth it because you can get the knock off on eBay for half the price, etc.... But Rotas suck because they aren't the real deal? LOL

That phrase comes to mind.... "pot meet kettle"

I look at it this way... Take cereal for example....

Frosted Flakes

Sugar Flakes

yes they look the same... Yes the generic are cheaper... But do they taste the same? NO... Usually the generic are cheaper quality, sog quicker and taste horrible.

Rota hating isnt a NEW fad... its been around for YEARS....

well I wasn't planning on licking wheels anytime soon so I'm not to worried about how they taste.

And as for quality, it's not like Rota copies a wheel and makes them put of plastic. I know lots of people including myself who have Rota's and they never fell apart, self distructed, burst into flames, melted or bent for no reason.

Maybe I'm cheap but I will not pay for a logo/brand

on the subject of hating on watered-down copies. we hate the Aveo for trying to be a Fit just like we hated the Fiero for trying to be an MR2

i buy rotas because no one trying to turn a profit will steal them

as posted already, balance is key.

rota's, konigs, tsw's, drags are fine on the Fit's and Civics and most
lower-end cars out there.
So having Work Volk Advan Mugen wheels on a fit is the same thing as having a huge APC spoiler on your civic? Your idea that a fit is only deserving of knock off rims is truely laughable. It sounds like you have more then a couple cars so i can understand that you dont feel the need to put the high end stuff on your fit because you have other cars you think are more deserving. But thats your garage! Not mine or anyone elses.

I put expensive wheels in my budget when I bought the fit knowing that the actual price I was paying for the car was going to be much more when all the modding was finished. The car is now payed off 2 months later and sitting on Volks, does that make me one of your 50,000 salary rolex wearers?

Guys throw tens of thousands at EKs EGs whatever, cars that when they came out really were not much different then our fit. Can you not appriciate a well done older hatch too? Should they all be on knock offs?
People buy cars for different reasons and with different intentions, You need to get up off your high horse your no better then the Rota bashers.

Edit: I have run Rotas in the past I have no problem with them and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

i donno, you tell me. if you are sporting some junk tires on your volks
and some lowering springs, apparently you might make that group.

the point was, even if you dont like what others are wearing, you dont go
out bashing other people's things just because you have more expensive
things.

why i made an example was because some of you guys buying expensive
wheels for none other than for "credibility" is kidding yourselves. if you
are a true car enthusiast, you would think about the entire car's balance
and spend the budget so that one part of the car matches another part
of the car to achieve improved TOTAL dynamics. it would be smarter
to buy rota's and a good set of tires vs volks and some shitty falkens or
something.
