yeah people give you props because 1) to show that you can spend the money and 2) you didnt half ass going with a knock off.

3...obviously. but for my needs?...its a moot point. there is simply no way to get around that.

4. maybe it would be, if it was spelled correctly.
5.is that really a good thing? hey i can only spend 15k on a car but i can spend 4k on rims, because i make sound financial decisions, yo.
6.right......

the funny thing is that you failed to mention any REAL performance benefits to the wheels themselves...probably because drivers like you would never push them to the level they were intended for? if thats the case, i just can't justify it.

i'll reiterate that guys driving subie sti's have no problem rocking rotas, but that could be because sti's rock out of the box? could the fit freak community be devloping the automotive equivalent of small penis syndrome?

i hope not.

again, if you can rock baller wheels, go for it, they look nice. but if you want some decent wheels at a fourth of the cost, why does that make any less sense?

getting baller wheels because you want to break necks and seem like a 'baller' because you are more worried about what other people think when they see your car=fail.

i know tons of guys with super nice civics rocking rotas and they run 12's all day. THATS putting your money where its neccessary.

i guess like me, i have 96 spec ITRs, there is no knock off for that wheel ( hx's look totaly different when sitting next to these)
they are only offerd in one color, offset, size, and a 4x114.3 lug pattern.

it cost me alot of money for these, they are not rotas or anyother brand like that so is that usless for me to have them on my my dd?
the member you are talking about also rocks baller wheels on his g35. trust me, he has no hate in his heart for those with nice wheels, just those who talk down on others who dont' have the means to splurge that kind of dinero.

ha ha! the 'only' option for them. lol.

i spelt it wrong on purpose.
and not everyone buys wheels to rag the shit out of.

what does the cost of the car have to do about wheels?

awesome you know a ton of guys with civics and rota's that drive in straight lines

i never said there was anything wrong with wheel we were stating the benefit of expensive wheels is the following:

"5.is that really a good thing? hey i can only spend 15k on a car but i can spend 4k on rims, because i make sound financial decisions, yo. "

does that make sense?

Look man, I can respect your opinion if you tell me you think my wheels look ugly, although I would highly disagree, but I can't respect you telling me that you don't like them because they're replicas.

All I hear when you say that is issues of insecurity.

uh...last time i checked it did.

basically, i was sarcastically pointing out that the 'benefits' you listed are not really benefits at all. and not ones that can be measured by peformance.

the whole argument here is why spend the extra dough....if you are buying for looks, knockoffs do the trick for a lot less, because like you said, people who are interested in that don't 'rag the shit out of it' as you so eloquently put it.

so now were spending all the extra dough for a name? that may be logical for some, but not for most.

I'm gonna try to end all the arguing here.

The honda fit doesn't have enough performance to even come close to cause damage to any replica wheels such as Rota/konig/etc. If you're buying expensive wheels because they're "stronger" or "better made", you've just wasted your money. Now I mean if you've bought 'em just because, I can respect that.

come onnnn flamers,lol

great point. its as simple as this guys! buy expensive wheels if you want/can and thats that. but don't try to justify it like you are putting them to the test if you know you are not.

Thats the best point I've seen yet. My argument for knockoffs is that these cars are daily drivers for most, which means that they'll be up against the elements, curbs, theifs, anyone/anything that daily driving has to offer. Point being that if you curb a rota or a knockoff you've only really cost yourself a hundred bucks apposed to ****ing up a volk and putting $500 down the drain on just one. Before anyone mentions that you should take better care of your shit than curbing your wheels, this can at times be unavoidable, ie curb a rim or total your car...

These items dont take the abuse that wheels take, buying cheaper knockoff parts that don't take abuse is stoopid

this is why i don't buy knockoffs....

it happened to myself personally in 03....

drifted at a corner at 60mph and the cheap ugly generic wheels in the rear broke clean off of the hubs.....

and guess what.....

my 5zigen was still intact after a 50 - 60 mph collision with the curb....

if the 5zigen was to broke off too, then my car would've flip into the cliff and prob. die.....

i mean 5zigen don't even cost that much more than rotas....

my life worth much more than 1k or 2k......

and it's not crazy at all for someone to spend 2k for a set of rims on a 15k cars....

almost all s13 owners i know have a set of rims that seriously cost way more than the car itself.....

you guys should visit zilvia.net sometimes and see how much people actually spends on their 2k cars....

Are you the the owner of the Fit with big chrome wheels? Dude leave the big chrome wheels to muscle cars and SUV's.

My 2 cents.
