Introducing my 05 Fit Sport JDM Spec GD3

just purchased my 05 Fit Sport JDM Spec GD3, manual. Completely standard at the moment, got a few things I need to pay off before I start doing some work to it but do have some plans. It is a fresh japanese import, so I am the first owner here in New Zealand, got it cheaper than most on dealerships at the moment in same spec.

It is 1.5 manual, along with all the fit sport goodies, factory jdm spec bodykit/bumpers, colour coded headlights with HID, factory privacy glass, smoked LED tailights. Also has a double din screen made by Gathers, it is unfortunately in japanese so will be swapping that out later for an alternative. Has a built in harddrive and also a slot for memory card etc.

Very clean Fit! Couldn't help but notice the Auto-Climate control... That's one option we didn't get in the US, I wish we got that here.

What's the mileage on it?

nice Fit duzntFIT. Love the climate controls and the Gathers audio set. Why part with it? Should you do, hit me with a message. :-)

To bad it has the JDM limited speedo that only goes to 180 KPH. Nice clean facelift version makes a new place to start.

Hootie - it has done 130,000ks.

massive - It wont be for a while, until I have enough money to buy my complete stereo setup I want to put in it, but main reason is, because its JDM spec and its all in 99% in Japanese, there is no language change option, and I'd rather not go through the hassle of trying to translate everything, cant even preset my radio channels, set up individual sound settings - i.e bass/treble etc, just using preset eq settings atm, and also no idea how to adjust the clock..

loudbang - Its not a race car - no need for a speedo that goes beyond 180, and even if I did, I wouldn't be trying to push it beyond that anyway.

Kelvinator - I just responded to you in the NZ peeps thread! haha

Yeah jap headunits are arse, mine still has some fancy pants touchscreen jap unit too and im in the same boat. Had to put in a band expander to get FM but even then i dont know how to save presets. My clock is set by GPS but is like 3 hours behind due to time zones.

Do you think you will go double din again, or single din and a pocket?

didn't you already sort out a double din alpine to replace yours?
mines showing the time in Tokyo to the exact minute.. .. how JDM is that?!

I always initially planned out what I would do to this fit before I even purchased it, and was thinking of just going back to a descent single DIN unit, now that I've had a play with this Gathers touchscreen dvd/unit, I am tempted to save and get another double din dvd/screen unit, looking at maybe JVC or Sony, and with all features obviously, Bluetooth, usb, aux etc - but they're still pricey. Another thing I don't like about double din is you cannot detach the face, although JVC does one where you can, but screw having to carry around a double din face! haha

wont be upgrading the stereo anytime soon though, got other stuff I want to spend money on prior.

picked up some 15x6.5" Enkei RP02's but still contemplating whether not I will put them on, eventually I do want to go 16's to settle on. The RP02's will be temporary until then but may just end up keeping as spares.

Also, fitted out the boot light, centre roof light, map lights up front, number plate lights and reverse light bulbs with LED ones through a mate of mine who sells LED lighting for cars which made a huge improvement and I love fancy lighting that makes your car look flash and new!!~ Although broke the lens for one of the number plate lights while trying to get them off, so need to find replacement for that, and haven't had a chance to do the front park light bulbs yet but will do that when I have time next weekend. pics to come!

here are some updates

All LED lighting supplied by my good friend Sean, who owns his own LED lighting company, did a complete fit out on my GD3 Fit last week.

Map lights fitted out with LED's...

Centre roof light fitted with LED panel ...

Indication of how well lit up the interior is now with the centre roof light

Number plate lamps fitted out with LED's .. actually broke a lense (trying to remove it, tried to follow instructions on fitfreak, but obviously didn't understand the instructions as to how hard to pull to the right .. .. snapped the clip, got a replacement one though)

heres a close up of the lamps:

LED panel fitted out bootlamp

really brightens up the boot now, considering the bootlamp wasn't even hooked up when I purchased the car initially.

LED reverse light bulbs

new sticker addition to the rear window, "Honda Alliance" .. small group of Honda freaks and good group of friends..

and a couple shots from a small shoot I did on my fit and a friends 96 Honda civic ek hatch running a D16 single cam non vtec turbo

as you can see, now rocking 15x6.5" 42p Enkei RP02's wrapped in 185/55/15 Archilles ATR sports rubber as well.

I know, Im begging for it to be lowered too! Got suspension coming soon, just need to re-arrange some finances. Might just get some cheap second hand lowering springs a local yard has available until I sell my previous daily driver in which I then have some 2nd hand Cusco adjustables awaiting me. Will definitely get a lowering treatment soon regardless.

Hi. Great looking Fit you've got. Mine's 04 Fit 5 spd. Same colour as yours. Did you buy it from a guy in tauranga ?
I want to change the front park lights to LED to match my HID headlights. Any idea to remove the bulbs?
