The Fit 0 Bambi 1

I was leaving my house last night, going out for a little while. Then I got to meet Bambi. Sorry for the crappy pictures, both of digital cameras have dead batteries......

Updated pics on page 2

I honestly dont know if they we be able to fix it. The motor is not sitting straight in the car. And the strut tower on the passenger side is all jacked up!

OMG, that is some serious damage! I hope you're able to repair it

I like the beer bottle in the spot where your headlight used to be... I'd be drinking after that incident, too! How fast were you going when Bambi decided to say hi?

If I were you, I would be hoping for them to total it. That car will NEVER be the same. Even if it drives straight afterwards, there will be creaks, rattles, misfitting parts and brackets, etc..

Maybe you hit it so hard it ceased to exist. But most likely not.

I've heard of some deers and dogs and other animals getting hit by cars and then running away after.
One of my dogs (An Irish Wolfhound that is like 3 and a half feet tall on all fours) got hit by a truck 2 christmases ago, she shrugged it off and boned out. Fits are pretty low, and it didnt look like you rolled it over your car like a lot of deer accidents do, so perhaps Bambi is off stopping forest fires while 3-leggin it.

I was doing 55-60. I honestly hope they total the car out. Just because Im with everyone else in the thread saying that the car will not ride right. The motor is not straight in the car like it was before. The strut tower is all mangled up. Obviously the headlight housing is broke. Both foglights are busted out, the bumper has cracks and holes in it. The windshield molding is all cracked. I honestly dont know if its totalled or not. I kinda hope so, because Im looking in to getting an '01 PY Type R.....

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, once I get out of work, Im buying batteries for the camera, and getting under the hood shots. And while I was looking at the car this morning, the alignment of the rear doors are both off. There is no gap between the rear door and rear quarter panel compared to the driver side. So it looks as if the car body shifted on the frame or something...

Sorry to hear about your accident.

That's scary. Glad you are ok.

Strange the airbags didn't go off.

Quite a bit of damage for the deer not to be slowed down.

I was once driving a rental van at 4am going to the Grand Canyon National park and just out of town a HUGE furry body crossed right in front of me very very fast and shocked me but it all happened so fast I could not even slow down (about 40 mph).

I think I missed hitting an Elk. In Hawaii we don't have big animals crossing roads so that was scary for me. No accident and everything was dark at that time. Didn't even see a head only a grey brown furry bulk of a body then it was GONE.

Hope you can get a new FIT soon.
