17" inch wheels on fit sport

I saw a lot of people are having their FIT with 15" or 16" rims but would like to know how it looks on 17"? 18" is too big personally, and I would not consider that.

Please help. Thanks

17"s look good but may rub. it all depends between the size/offset of you wheels, your suspension, etc.. even some 15"s tend to rub

Theres a few running 17's on the Fit. Youll need at the lowest a +45mm offset to prevent rubbing.
Tire size, I believe 205/40/17's are what people are using. Maybe 1-2 with 195's, its not a common tire though.

We are lowered on df210's, and the wheels are 17x7.5" +42 with 205/40 Falken azenis tires. Front never rubbed, back did slightly til some fender rolling was complete.

Hope this helps!

do you think a 42 offset on a 17 is going to rub any worse than my 38 offset 15, also i am using 195/55/15, and would be using 205/40/17. and im dropped on df210, i have looked in the will it rub or fit section and could not find anything.

wow that was funny, as i was writing this the dude above posted pics of what size i was asking about, same springs too. lol. too cool. thanks for the info dcmcelreath.

The thing is all tires are different. You wouldnt know unless you tried them.
Ill say no as per what Ive noticed and the post above you. Id just try it. The rubbing will be minimal anyway. Quick fix.

How much do you rub now? Cant be too much. The fronts more so right?

The 195/55's equal out to 7.6" wide and 23.4" Overall height

The 205/40's equal out to 8.0" wide and 23.4" Overall height.

The 4 mm difference in offset equals .15", or .0787", compared to the .2" the tire will be closer to the fender well, I would say yes. It will rub worse.

But, as as said, all tires are very different. Whether it is sidewall ply width, or just bowing in the design. I would also just try it. You never know what could happen. Everyone told me that the car would be undrivable with those falkens

Give it a shot, and let us know how it works out!

You are very welcome for the info!

Dustin

Dustin:

Your car looks very good on this rim. How much did you lower on your df210's?

Thank you, the front is just about 2" lower, and the back was about 1.75"

People always tell me certain things wont Fit. All you can do is try it out. If its not fitting TO YOU, take them off.
Ive had many different sizes and offsets on my Fit.

Two words, Thank you. We need more people on this site that are willing to try out different stuff. We always see your car with different wheels. Very Jealous!

I'm on 17x7 +42 with a 205/40/17 no drop and rubs in back when I got a car full of overweight people and I hit a bump or there is a divet in the road.

Dustin,

Do you feel that Fit has lost power after you installed 17" on it?

I honestly don't think so, the Falken hanabi's are pretty light wheels, so it didn't make much of a difference at all.

i am running 17X7.5's with 42 or 43 mm offset...cant remember exactly. also have 215/40/17 falken rt615's. very minimal rub in rear. I did a nice little fender roll to fit the oversized wheel/tire combo, and am completely satisfied!

actually i dont rub at all in the front, and in the rear its very minimal, not enough to cause tire damage, but just rubs on the bumper to fender screw tab, and a little on the fender i think, i always get a build up of tire shine goo under the edge of the fender thats why i think its also rubbing there a little. i am going to try it, if i ever get my stimulus check from uncle sam, i was one of the turbo tax people that got screwed out of my direct deposit and have to wait for the paper check. anyway i may try a little fender rolling or pulling if needed, thanks for the all the info guys, and i hope to be posting my 17s soon.
