Bulldog Stance w/out the dirty dance?

Like MLK Jr. I have a dream I may need some inspiration and wondered if I am the only one?
Can a fit look like this in stance and wheel package and not rub at all?

I may be hearing too many slight to moderate horror stories of the dreaded rub.
Do I just start off rolling the fenders for the helluvit to be on the safe side?

All I want to achieve is that mean lowered bulldog bulging wide aggressive stance for my everyday driver.

To get that look you'll need a crazy LOW offset (20mm and lower) and very wide rear rims. Of course rubbing is going to happen. Putting "stretched tires" on the car can save you from a little rubbing but not much.

A stretched tire is a smaller width tire on a really wide rim (195 on a 8in rim)
That would give the tire a stretched look, thus the name.

Rolling the fenders are definitely going to be needed for a look like that.

Coilovers would help a lot also. Setting the right stance and a stiff ride would help stop rubbing. Lots of different little things help.

somewhat true

yes you need a very low offset wheel, or you can run wheel spacers
you MIGHT rub, depending on springrate, i personally had a miata with less than half an inch of area between the rear tire and fender, and i never rubbed at all, but then again, i had 500/650 lb/in spring rate

you'll want a lot of negative camber, too. bring the bottom of the tire out, and the top in. some will help with turn in, but too much will quickly affect the tire's wear...

This supposed look I'm going for will be very intricate and calculated.
  1. Gonna Roll Them Fenders Right Away Regardless
  2. Desired Sexy 16" Rim/Tire Pkg.
  3. Proper Rim Offset
  4. H&R Spacer & Extended Lugnut Pkg. if necessary
  5. Functional Lowering Spring Choice
  6. Aftermarket Hi-Performance Struts/Shocks

I guess it can be done.
Thanks for all the imput.

you dont need spacers and extended lug studs if you select a good offset wheel to give you that stance

a spacer and extended wheel stud puts more pressure on the hub, i've seen aftermarket studs snap like that, plus, you dont get a nice lip on the wheel with a +45 offset compared to a +27 offset

for lowering springs, i recommend sticking with a reputable company, like eibach or tanabe, i've seen the tein s techs on our cars and it drops it really nice, but the ride is just uncomfortable

as of now, no one produces any aftermarket shocks that will directly bolt onto the usdm fit chassis, some modifications are needed, but not much, to make a japanese spec shock kit to bolt on

^ My 240sx with no rubbing. I have been looking for 16x8 in a +30 or so for my fit so I can stretch a 205/45-16 on it and then roll fenders to give a flush look. But alas no money to buy expensive wheels right now so the fit is still sitting on some 16x7 +35 and they look good but not nearly as aggressive as they could be.

not to forget; your fit will look like a lawnmover throwing things off to the sides with rear tires like that
