Lifted misfit

We ended up getting another Honda, this makes the fifth Honda that we’ve owned. Ended up getting a 2017 EX 6MT. So far it seems pretty good overall, 72k on the clock. I hope I don’t end up with injector issues that so many others have had issues with. I can see the paint isn’t the best and I’m sure I’ll find other little things that bug me that I’ll work out as I go.

here is a link to my last Honda that I put back together after being totaled.

In the process of lifting it, I’m sure I’ll get plenty of people that don’t see the point or think I’m crazy, but each their own.

So far I’ve used Honda Insight springs on the front and back, along with the 30mm spacers from tema4x4 on the front and rear. Replaced the front struts with some new kyb struts.

Still playing around with the rear, trying to find shocks that have the correct extended and collapsed length. right now I have some tuff country shocks in the rear, but they are way to stiff. So trying to find something softer that has a extended length around 28”

Ordered some rpf1’s that are 15x7 with some X-ice snows on them. I’ve test fitted them, but right now still running the 16’s.

I removed the wheel liners from all four corners, cleaned everything and applied some seam sealer were some areas were lacking, then sprayed it with 3M rubber coating.

the rears just looked like salt catchers to me. I didn’t put them back on.

if anyone has any advice on the rear shocks I’m all ears! Eventually I would like to lift the front a little more, but get rid of the spacer, I’m thinking maybe HR-V struts with there spindles, I believe the bolt holes are offset some. Any advice is appreciated!
cheers!

That is with the spacers and springs on the rear, still playing with the setup.

That’s with front spacers and insight springs

I ended up taking the rear 61302 shocks off, they were just too stiff. I think I’m going to try some bilstein rear shocks. Right now I’m sitting at close to 28” to rear wheel well with the springs and spacers.

Threw on a catch can as well.

I can confirm that Bilstein 5100 24-064576 shocks will fit on the rear of the gk5 if you need a longer extended length with a lift. They are slightly stiffer, seems to help with body roll. The valving what I gathered is 40/140, pretty close to factory, just a little bit stiffer, probably will be a help if I have the rear loaded down. I know bilstein makes a replacement shock for the 2013 with a valving rate of 37/73 if that helps.

they are designed for a Jeep Wrangler 87-95 with a 3-4” lift.

Collapsed Length (IN) - 16.97
Extended Length (IN) - 28.44

I had to cut the top bushing in half to give me enough length to screw the top nut on.

What I got out of my catch can after 400 miles
