Spoon Springs vs. Eibach-Pro Springs

Would just like to know if any of you guys have these (I know alot of you have the Eibachs) and would appreciate if you could post comments and pictures regarding the suspension.

1. How is the ride quality when compared with stock?
2. Did you notice significant improvements in handling performance and driving feel?
3. For a car which is supposed to be a comfortable, but fun daily driver, did you feel the sacrafice in ride quality (if any) was worth it?
4. Will installing these springs on stock struts/shocks cause significant wear and tear, resulting in a significantly shorter life-span for the stock struts/shocks?
5. How much did the set cost you?
6. DIY install - easy?
7. Any more comments/suggestions?

Thanks!

I don't have them myself...but from reading peoples opinions I think these springs are going to retain the best ride quality for DD possible compared to any other springs that are out right now.

I think people claim 3 years on stock struts but who knows.

That's my 2 cents since no one has posted anything.

Other points to consider!
From the collaboration of Posts in this forum to date with regards to drop springs; this particular USDM fit is not yet blessed with the choices of aftermarket shocks/struts available yet. eg. Tockico, Bilstien, Koni etc.

A wheel and tire combonation can affect road feedback too. eg. Bigger Wheel Diameter and Lower Profile Tire.

And of course daily driver feel.

Well comfort seems to be a relative term and is dependant on what class, what size and kind of car you drove before? This car is no floating mattress Cadillac or Lexus. However, the Country, State and Regional road conditions in your commute should also be taken into account.

I also haven't read a post expressing overly harsh rides with any of the springs offered from H&R Sports, T1R's, Tanabe GF210, Tanabe DF210, Skunk 2's, Tien S-Tech, Vogtland, Spoon, Eibach Prokit. Progressive Spring winding and progressive spring rates is the key.

The general consensus is that expect a slightly firmer ride of 20-30% in the worst case scenario.

Thanks, that helps alot.

I think I will hold off until more aftermarket choices become available and see sorta where everything stands and people are able to give more long-term feedback.

Thumbs up

i have the pro kit springs and the ride is firmer but not harsh. i feel they were worth it. the car handles alot better in turns and is alot more stable on the highway and in windy weather. i paid around $200.00 for them and had them installed at a meineke shop on long island. besides the drop looks great!!!

Eibach pro springs vs spoon springs

I have the eibach pro springs on my car. Installation was a breeze but I had a lift to work on. Also the drop is perfect. Ride quality is great considering your driving a lowered vehicle. Not far from the stock ride quality. Handling is greatly improved all around. I would recommend them to anyone. I'm not going to say anything about the spoon springs because I was never in a car with spoon springs. But, spoon products are great. I have their B-pipe and air filter on my car. I paid $180.00 with shipping for the springs. Again well worth buying. Be sure to get the car aligned after installation. I did mine myself but shouldn't cost much to get done.

Eibach makes high quality springs but as for performance, Spoon will have more precision cuz they only focus on Honda cars.

I'm quite impressed with mine too. Took me 70 minutes to install them myself. I don't have a lift, but i have pretty much everything else.

Will USDM Fit have the same result as JDM Fit since USDM Fit are heavier?

i love my eibach's, the ride is perfect, the drop is perfect, and the handling is soooo much better. one of the best mods i have done and at around 200 bucks they are well worth it. and yes they are progressive.

i don't think they will be anymore precise than the eibachs... they are just springs.

Thanks!
1. The ride is a little more bumpier.
2. Performance increase is significant...less body roll.
3. I feel like I sacrificied just a small part of my DD since you can feel the bumps more now, but I have no regrets. On the smooth pavement it feels like stock.
4. I am sure the stock struts will wear out faster, but I have shocks in my future mods list.
5. $180 shipped from Modacar (they ended this deal and it took them 3 weeks to get to me)
6. Install was easy. It took a friend of mine and myself less than 90 minutes to install.
7. If you are like me and are not planning for power mods, this can be one of the most significant mods on your list besides tires.
