DIY drop you car...

Spring Install

When I had my 04 Civic, it helped alot...
I's not from me and it's for a 7gen Vic but
it's very similar for the Fit (for the front)...

actually, it turns out its alot more difficult me and ricepuddin found out in the front, due to the overhang of the big plastic piece over the front mounts..

I'm about to do it myself... like I said before, I did it on my Civic but
could you tell me more about the big plastic piece over the front mounts ?
For me, it look pretty straight foward ???

it's somewhat different on the fit. you do have the top nut but only one. You need a offset box wrench to really get to that nut due to the shape of the metal up there.

the bottom you have 2 bolts on the knuckle. get a bungee cord to avoid the wheel hub to drop down and the axle to pop out. it's a pita to put back unless you've had to do that before. you don't have to remove the cv joint. Last things to unbolt is the sway bar endlink.

the rear you need the top nut again for the shock. the rear spring, get the type of compressor that goes inside the coil to compress vs. what you would use in front. You'll know what i mean if you look at it.

have a buddy to help that KNOWS what to do. If i had that it would have saved me time.

good luck.

Thanks for your help... I already have the spring compressor... The
only thing I need to buy is the offset box wrench. It was very easy
to do on my 04 Civic, I did it alone, it took 2H for the first corner and
2H for the rest of the car

Philippe.

how should the bungeeing be done? Like bungee cord it toward the car? Similar to that DIY where that rotor falls out, just bungee that area onto something/
