Painting tower bars?

This might be a dumb question, but does a tower bar flex enough from normal wear and tear to cause paint to flake or peel?

I painted the front upper shock tower bar in my del Sol a few years ago and have not had a single problem with the paint. You should be good to go.

What kind of paint would be ideal to paint the tower bars?

Get a decent primer and use a paint designed for metal. I like to use wrinkle-type paint that looks like an ITR valve cover.

Yeah, I prefer to scour the metal heavily, then add primer, then paint.

A touch up spray that is the same color as my car would be fine, right?

Here's mine. Tanabe bars come redish stock but it clashed with my intake so I tried to match the color a bit better...Close, but needs to be a touch more orange.
