Shocks for the fit.

Looking to drop my 07 taff white sport soon. But I want to getta new set of shocks with the springs. I havent found anyone who makes a seperate shock/ strut for the car. I e mailed Koni today. Let me know if you know anyone that makes shocks for the usdm cars. I was going to drop on tanabe gf-210's but may coinsider the spoon springs (stiffer?) due to rumors of rub with passangers/ larger wheels and tires. spoon also offers a dampener kit for 700 ish. and i dont wanna cough up 1000 bucks + for a coil over set up lemme know

you must be the guy I saw in the bilo parking lot.

I sure hope the spoons don't drop more than an inch or I'll be rubbing worse more than likely. They should be coming this week though, so I'll let you know.

my offset was +38, and they just barely rub... i'd say make sure you get +45 to be on the safeside.

My springs should be here any day now, hopefully I'll get them installed this weekend, but I'll let you know when I do.

ok.. spring installation moved to next weekend when i can get access to some air tools.

and yeah, spoon's fit is nasty. I'll get the shocks when I can afford them. Rapes the NSX around the corners... too bad it can't do the same on the straights ... oh well, its still an economy car!

I talked to Lee @ Koni about the struts, here is what he said:

"We are not currently although we do have some interest but no information. We have been told that it is a front strut system very much akin to the new body civics but don't have much info from there. Most other Hondas sell well although the Fit is low priced enough that the market size for quality performance parts is likely going to be relatively small and hard to prove.

At this point, we'd need to get samples and info to see how similar they are to the new Civic, which have proved to take quite some time to get the sampings and tooling for."

I think KONI usa is in the oh/ky area. Maybe someone could contact them about lending them their car for testing.

AJ racing should have their struts available in the next month or so, they should work OK until we find out what koni's plans are.

seems to be a great deal of debate on all these suspension set ups. t1r coilovers, tein basic coilover and dampener, alot of info on the mugen sport suspension, but no info or actual reviews on spoons progressive springs w/ their dampeners. mugen reviews state that its a little bouncy, well their springs are not progressive. I would be intrested, and may venture this month into getting a set of the spoon springs/ dampeners. I dont know if anyone in the us carrys them instock? Mugen about $1100-1200, spoons are priced very similar

This is an excellent question. I have not found any reviews on the spoon dampers.
