FIXED: Driver rear-wheel-gap is less than the passenger rear?

Is this normal?

I just installed some new springs - Eibachs... both front are the exact same height. The Driver side Rear is 1/2" lower than the passenger side rear. Is this normal?

I am measuring from the seam where the body and bumper meet to the center of the rim.

Any thoughts? Normal? Bad shock; could a shock affect ride height?

Thanks

release the handbrake and remeasure....make sure your in gear or in park before you do that too. Most the time after lowering a car, the hand brake needs to be released to settle the car down.

Thanks... I'll give that a shot.

On the positive, I know it's not the springs... I just swapped the rear springs and shock - if either was the problem, the passenger side rear would have dropped. Interestingly the height remains exactly the same (1/2" lower on driver side - rear) regardless of the springs/shock combo.

I will check tomorrow without parking brake on tomorrow.

Could it be something else? Any other suspension components that could alter ride height on the rear?

Thanks!

Wow... so simple! That was it... thanks again!! I wish I hadn't lifted and checked my springs half-a-dozen times though looking for a more complicated problem.I am quite happy now.~Cheers!!

my new Fit is about 1/2" higher rear passenger side, all stock. I've checked on different surfaces, and it's without brake on or in gear. Should I bring it in or will they consider this "normal".

Thanx,

Mark

...maybe its the fit's handling secret - you never know if the suspension designer of the fit watched too much initial d

we've never met, but yet you know me so well It's too new to pitch the shocks, but they really are mush, so at some point it'll probably happen.

Weigh each wheel corner and see if thats the reason for height change. Only considerable works results in weight equally divided left to right regardless of the weight difference front to rear. It isn't unual to have a hundred pounds or more difference side to side just cause thats how the car is designed.
