please recommend me a new suspension setup
hey guys, my stock suspension is getting wore out and now i'm looking for a new setup, mainly something aggressive but not too stiff. and also i'm not willing to spend too much on this. so perhaps new struts and springs would be nice. and plan to use this setup for a lot of mountain driving where the road is a little rough at some times, so not too stiff because i will bounce off the side of the mountain. so yea, please recommend me something, thanks
nothing wrong with tein or megan most other companies. i just think skunk2 might be too stiff for this guy. people say that megan coilovers are pretty stiff and thats a 8k/6k spring so imagine a 10k/8k spring. could be wrong about skunk2 but thats pretty dang stiff
quality and R&D wise tein has been lacking recently. Megan, ksport, d2, and some other big name companies are made from one factory in taiwan or china haha one of those. Basically its the same coilover just with a different name. Im looking at this as a quality issue. If you want to just daily with some autox or mountain runs. You could just run springs swifts, spoons, or those springs zeal makes are nice. My friend has the spoons and there perfect for daily, but you can feel the performance difference.
i drove a close buddy of mine on the mountains who happens to be a former subaru sponsored track driver who has a few years of experience under his belt. he basically told me that besides working on developing my smoothness and shifting, he also says that i should get new suspension parts because he says he can feel that they are worn out already. but then he said that i should not get coilovers because i don't need them at the moment, especially at my skill level. he recommended just getting shocks and springs. he basically says its better and wiser to learn on shocks/springs than to jump into getting coilovers.
soo i won't be getting coilovers, thanks for the input though guys.

True. Ive had lowering springs on my stock struts since day 2 of owning my Fit. 20,000miles and my suspension is still good.
only 14k but i do feel that i have lost that stiffness when the car was first brought. I mean, the suspension is horrible, they are not shot, it's just that getting new/better suspension will help the handling.
hahahah. i had lowering springs on my fit teh second day i had my fit too hahaha. i have almost 7k miles, and my suspension feels just as good as when i drove the car home from the dealer.
It seems like with adjustable coilovers you can dial in the comfort level. Skunk2 Tony says the Pro C can be adjusted from near stock softness for DD to super-track stiff-- and all points in between. I mean it sounds too good to be true, but they are willing to take the things back if you don't like them.
