replacement Progress RSB bolts

I finally started to settle down some, and wanted to get someone to install my RSB for me, I don't have a garage or the tools available anymore to do the work. But a problem came up, I can't find the bolts to the RSB. I know I ductaped them to the RSB in a plastic bag, and it's just gone.

Anyways, needing to get them soon, before January 9th, since That will be the only time I can lose my car for a weekend.

bolts that came with the RSB are garbage anyway...made my car squeak like no other. you need some bolts with rouded/ low profile bolt heads.

i picked some up at lowes. people warned me about suspension components putting alot of strain and needing special hardened steel....but mine have held up fine. i went and removed one the other day to see if its bending/cracking/wearaing, and it was teh same as the day i put it in.

cost was about $8 for washers/bolts/nuts.

Go to your local Fastenal store. Thats where I work. You would either would stainless steel (so they wont rust) or Grade 8 bolts because they have a higher tensile strength.

I can't use low grade, I actually track and push my car beyond it's intention even with stock engine/powertrain, the way I twist and turn my car, I need proper grade steel, don't want to risk losing part of my suspension cause I was careless to save 10$.

and time to call up SlimJim~

Damn, why is his number never in my cell...

How about if someone knows the size of the bolt I can make little packs of them and send them to you guys?

Anyone interested?

I'll go find out tomorrow if I have time. I have the shitty bolts and I'll take em to Lowes and ask someone. I plan on flipping my rear springs hopefully tomorrow so I could maybe knock this out. Would be nice lol

I have an ACE, went yesterday for visor mounting tape. redrumm, what are the sizes and dimension or whatever so I know what to look for. If you could post close-up pic of the bolts that would kick ass!

i would not recomend grade 8 bolts cause the vibration could break them. their tensile strength is high but vibration cuts them in half. personally i just skipped bolts all together and welded it right to the bottom spring perch. i used a 3/32 11018 rod if anyone was curious. (thats welder talk)

A quick look, they are 3/8"-16 x 3/4"L round head machine screw/bolt. I recommend buying extra of them to help "balance" the springs...granted I didn't do that myself.

As for grade 8? I remember a few people have them on the fourm, but I havn't heard anything about them snapping....

The people having noise problems are the ones using various brands of after-market lowering springs- not stock springs as you have, I had, and most buyers of the bar have.
Progress designed the bar and its hardware for use on otherwise stock Fits.

I have no jack, no hardware, I have nothing to install with... sorry but by a weekend I mean that I can be without the car for 15 minutes. I am currently on call 24hours a day, with a regular schedule of 10pm to 7am, monday-friday, and I've been called into work during the day, halfway through my daily sleep.

I like the hours, I like the money, but I have to have someone else install it. Not much choice...
