Knocking/rattling noise in the suspension?

I just installed my skunk2 lowering springs over the last weekend and every since, I've been hearing a knocking sound from the suspension.

The noise only occurse on bumps that are more to one side of the car or another, if I hit the bump straight on, I get no noise.

Also, I hear the knocking if I jiggle the steering wheel back and forth at low speed.

My thoughts right now are that I didn't tighten down the sway bar end links enough and now the sway bar is loose. Does anyone else have any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks

I think Illusive had this same problem before, was related to the front strut & how the washers & bolting was assembled at the mount.

Check out your sway bar link as well, I actually made the mistake of forgetting to tighten the driver side one up once and I noticed it within like 5 minutes because it started clunking.

determine where the noise is coming from, then check all nuts to see if its tight. shaking the shock assembly can help too.

i had the same problem, on bumps my rear right side would always making knocking noises when i got bumps slowly or even up ramps/driveways.

me and my brother in law shook the shock assembly and we felt it was loose. we tightened the lower mount with an impact and great successss.

yah, check the endlinks first and if they are tight, you'll need to to remove the struts and tighten that 19mm nut shown above.

Well I took some time today in between mini-thunderstorms to take apart both sides of the front suspension.

I cut the bump stops down an extra 1/2", tightened everything down a little extra and put her back together.

I'm not sure which of these steps did the trick but the noise is completely gone now. Thanks for the help guys

I know old thread, but I'm in a pinch. Installed my springs last weekend, and have been having issues with clunking as well. When it comes to the 19mm nut, if anyone remembers from an install, mine is being buried by the threads; I do not have anymore threads to tighten the nut on. Stock gd3 struts, with T1R s coils v.2. Thanks

Guy
