Question Help with Pro-Cs

As of right now I have the rear coil-overs bottomed out and there is still atleast a two finger gap. I was looking at the rears and I think if I remove one or two of those black rings above the spring it will give me the desired drop. My question is, will removing those rings cause any safety issues? If it will do you guys have any other ideas? I tried asking Ray what he did but he was tight lipped about it

Call Brian at SKunk 2 customer service. 951-808-9888 - listen to the prompts. His extension is 209.
You could always line the rear floor with sandbags. LOL

well ray told me what he did to his awhile bck but since he's tight lipped about it i prefer not to say lol.

i have removed both rings/collars on mine and put the silver base on the bottom.. been that way for 6k miles now with no problems what so ever. it dropped it 1/2-1" more than with them on.

here is a thread with pics of my fit.. scroll throughout the thread there are multiple shoots added in it.

My springs dont sit that way. I have them reversed...
And remove the collars, itll sit way better. Removing the collars will cause the rear springs to fall out if the rear suspension gets air born.

I thought you asked how I got my stance? Ive done more than remove the collars.

i have my rears as low as it can go and i still tuck at least a quarter inch of tire - 205/50/15 falken ziex on 15x7 slips. no modification to my rear collars, both are still intact. are your struts all the way down?

you might need to drive around a bit to get it to settle. a few spirited laps around your neighborhood might do the trick, it works for me.

your end is tucking the tire, i have mine all the way down and there is a two finger gap.

Is it possible that some how my Progress rear bar is messing with the hight?

Im not looking to get it as low as rays is I just want to close up the wheel gap. I was thinking of removing the collars but if that runs the risk of the spring falling out I better not. The roads around here are very ruff and I could see the rear suspension getting air

maybe the springs are sitting on the bolts?

oh, and im on 17" wheels, with a larger diameter tyre, so itll close some gap

My car sat the same as mine does now with my rear sway.
Are the shocks ran all the way into the shock base? If not, thats the problem.

At my cars stance I did a few runs at a track night. My car kicked ass.

Holly crap! That is SLAMMED! How can you keep your bumper from getting banged up? Or is that its good side?

That is one very seriuos safety risk! Double check that THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN by testing any mod you do by raising the rear of the car of the ground letting the suspension droop completely. If you can take the spring off easily you are putting yourself smack dab in a world of pain if you get a bit airborne. That sounds ridiculous but at least in my experience in the crappy high ways we have down here my car jumps over imperfections over bridges and such. This is the reason suspensions are designed to have at least a tiny ammount of spring preload wich is the preassure the spring still holds against its seats when fully extended.

Don't remove the collars. That would be very bad if they fell out...you'd be up shit's creek.

Try flipping the rear springs. My collars are on the bottom, not the top. Just try it, only takes 5 minutes. I have a one finger gap in rear, no gap up front. I want a no finger gap in back too, but really I think I'm just going to have to deal with it, because I refuse to remove a collar.

all this talk about your rear wheel gap being bigger than everybody else's...i just have to ask, what size are your tires? just in case you have some smaller tires so the gap looks bigger?

I have 16 inch rims with 205/45/16 tires. Its been a bit longer and I think the springs have settle a bit. I did notice though that my front wheels sit just about flush with the fender. Where as in the rear it sits in, maybe less then 5mm witch might be adding to the look of more wheel gap. I do wish it sat a bit lower in the rear still but im definitely not going to take the risk of removing the collars.

Made straps for my sus last week. Worked great.
Now my springs dont fall out.

They never did before. The car would have to be jacked up in the air for them to fall out. If never hit a bump big enough for both rear wheels to extend all the way down.
