Lowering springs or full suspension?

I'm looking at getting some lowering springs. Most of them are under $200 for a full set (Progress, for instance). But my question is, are they a good way to go?

Just looking to obtain the cleaner look, so getting rid of that gap would help.
A little better responsiveness would be great but not required. Body roll on the car already is tolerable. I don't think I'll be auto-crossing this car like I did with my MINI.
Will lowering springs cause any problems (besides clearance)?

Never done suspension mods.

Edit: more than 1.5" pref. Anyone know of some? I know Skunk2 makes some.

Why are you selling them and why are you looking for new ones?

PM me with further possible sale info. I'd like some pictures of your car with them installed and the springs alone obviously.

I've got Tein S-techs and apart from some clearance issues every now and then, Im loving them. Ideally you should go coilovers for the adjust-ability and the fact that anything greater than a 45mm drop can have an adverse effect on shock/strut lifespan.
For me body roll is virtually eliminated and the car handles noticeably better. You should also consider spring rates when making your decision, mine are quite a bit harder compared to stock. Do a search for more specific info...

I'd like to have pretty stiff springs. I work with developmentally disabled adults and sometimes have to carry three around at a time. Some of them can get large (one being 6'3" 340lbs and anothr being 5'5" 280lbs), so I'd rather not bottom out!

With this much weight (nearing 1000lbs w/ myself & three passengers), should I not even think about lowering?

maybe you'd like swift springs, they drop only 1in and are pretty stiff, quality is a definite plus! they actually produce OEM parts for some cars. good luck!

Was looking at the spring comparison thread.

If one spring drops one inch with 200 pounds, do two springs drop half an inch with 200 pounds?

I'd hate to throw 500 pounds of human in the back seat and end up bottoming out. It doesn't happen with my stock suspension.

i highly doubt you'll bottom out. Just pick a reputable spring company and you'll be all good!

Even with 1000 lbs in the car? Gosh I hope so!

Thinking about the Eibachs and cut one coil off the back springs. That's what SD_MR_FIT did.

Also had another idea that I didn't think of cause I'm new to the cheapo-ricey mods. Haha! What about chopping or clamping the stock springs?

Springs would be good way then if you just want to get rid of that gap and not going into hardcore. I have Tanabe springs on my car and loving them. Especially I DD the car.

i would recommend not cutting off a coil if you're going to have that much weight in back, trust me i did it and it dropped the car ALOT. like 4 people in the back brought my muffler a few inches from the ground

my friend had the Tanabe GF springs. Pretty nice drop and great performance, the rear had an even drop so you wont have to cut coils
