Arospeed lowering springs
Hey, anyone out there have any experience with this brand and this set of springs specifically?

I can't help but be intrigued because the price is dirt cheap - but my instinct always leans towards the "too good to be true" mantra.
I'm looking for a mild drop that I can still maintain factory shocks/struts and not have them prematurely wear out.
I've also been considering the skunk2 set, but if this can do a similar job for a fraction of the cost, why not, right?
Any advice, recommendations, general help anyone can give me would be great!

Great this info about Arospeed has been good so far. I figured the price was too good and there had to be a catch - and man, that's some catch. I can't believe I was close to considering a company with history like that.
I've looked at the Tein and Tanabe kits - they're reasonably priced, but since I don't have spring compressors or the confidence to do these myself I'm factoring in estimated costs for labor from a shop too and that does put me a little over budget. While I've heard its relatively easy and most people DIY it, there's just enough things that could go wrong that stop me.
also - the Skunk2 kit has been showing up pretty reasonably priced on ebay and other online shops. Anyone out there have experience with these? The drop is right about where I want it to be, I think 1.4" front and 1.8" rear...
Also - I know spring rate will really make a difference. Does anyone know the stock spring rates on the fit and which kits out there, if any, have similar spring rates so I can reduce the negative effects on the OEM shocks. I'm not looking to track this car much, if at all, so I can't really justify ~$900 for coilovers at this point, but I still want some increased handling characteristics and a better aesthetic stance for the car. I'd probably eventually upgrade to performance shocks when they come out from Koni, Tokico, etc.

i did alot of research before i bought mine and i decided on the skunk2's. i ordered them from iptuned.com and shipped they were 160 so i couldnt complain. i just got them in this morning so when i instal them tomorrow i will give you my take on them on the road and off the paper. all the people i have talked to and the pics i have seen look like they are right up my ally.
yea so much for installing the springs yesterday. one of my friends let me borrow his spring compressor and lets just say the name on it should have said piece of crap. i broke it on the first spring so i put it all back together and i am going to give it anouther shot on friday. i will post pics of before height and after the springs height to give you an idea of how it sits.
just got done installing them and i am very happy with the skunk2 springs. they were a breeze to instal and i didnt even need the spring compressor. i will have the pics up soon. drove around on them for about 30 minutes and they didnt feel to harsh but the handeling has greatly improved imo.
Congrats on the new springs. Question...looking into getting some lowering springs....what was the drop like compared to stock, are they bouncey over bumps and unpaved areas and lastly do you rub anywhere along the tires?

for the skunk2s that i have it was an inch and some change. its kinda hard to tell how much it actually dropped. i know there is lower kits on the market but i wouldnt want to go any lower then what i have. they are somewhat bouncy but not as bad as i was expecting and i have experienced no rubs. im all around happy with the skunk2s and would suggest them to anyone looking for improved handeling with a very manageable daily driving experience.
