Skunk2 Springs + T1R S-Spec Dampers
Skunk2 Springs + T1R S-Spec Dampers
I used to run factory dampers wit the Skunk2's, but I got my S-Specs in the other day, got them installed today.
First thing I noticed was the back coils compress so much, they have like 4 links touching each other. (I can get pics tomorrow). Also, the back suspension, when driving, creaks really bad, pretty much sounds like the coils rubbing against each other.
Anyways, my question is this: Do any of you run this set-up and had the same issues? If so, how was it resolved? Anyone else run these dampers with other after market springs and get the same issue? How was it resolved?
Thanks

My past set-up was Factory Dampers with the Skunk2's. The passenger side rubbed a decent amount at first, but from the 2 years it was lowered, everything that could rub, has rubbed, so hardly any rubbing before the change. Now that I have changed, getting a decent amount on the driver side, but I am sure it will eventually do much like the passenger side did.
The tops of the S-Specs has the adjuster. 14 clicks- Softest to hardest ride. Pretty much, the way it keeps track of the clicks is the fact that its a type of 'ratcheting' set-up. This small piece can be removed and replaced, if need be. Well, one of my struts came with a bad ratcheting system on the adjuster. I can still adjust the strut, but there are no 'clicks', so I have to guess where it is adjusted to.
I bought my struts through vexmotorsports.com. They told me to contact T1R. When i did, they referred me back to vexmotorsports. Then Vex sent me to (surprise surprise) AJ-Racing. Now I am dealing with them, but they dont seem to understand what the **** I am talking about.
I DONT NEED A NEW STRUT!! I need the small ratcheting adjuster part on the top!!
So until I get my struts all properly tuned, I dont really want to write a review (even though it is much better than what I had).
