Tracking and Coilovers.

Right guys.
I have taken my car to numerous shops around my area now and nowehere can get the car on the ramps as it's too low.
So my idea is to raise the car up and get the tracking done that way. Then lower the car back down.
I have been told that this won't affect the tracking as such, but might give me a bit of neg camber.
Anyone know anything about any of this?

I think it will only effect the camber a bit .. raise it just enough the get it done then lower it to the desired height u want

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. A bit of negative camber doesnt hurt anyways!

Changing ride height also affects your toe . . . so unfortunately, your plan won't work. You have to get an alignment done @ the ride height you'll be operating at. If you can't find a shop that can do it, you can do it yourself. All you need is a flat driveway and a few inexpensive supplies (string, cinder blocks, sticks, measuring tape, etc.). Then a little bit of math combined with a lot of patience, and you can adjust front toe by yourself. Googling "diy alignment" should bring up at least half a dozen pages on how to do it. And if you're curious about your camber, inexpensive camber gauges can be found in quite a few places. Harbor Freight, Pegasus Racing, eBay, etc.

correct anytime you alter the height of the car you must get a alignment.

How much of a ride height change do you need? if its very small it should not change the alignment enough to really matter.

Find a shop that specializes in porsche, BMWs etc... they should be able to do a hand alignment for you.
